Interesting, and something I've never encountered. Is that a "non-SDR" limitation? Seems reasonable that it would be. I just enter kHz ... "14028+AFX-Key". Works fine for HF. I think there could possibly be an issue if you have transverters connected, in which case the technique in the manual is very likely right. One can always do it the "Ham Way" and just try it and see what happens. 😉 We might be over-precisioning [new word] here, I have a suspicion that the memory gets you close enough to hear at which point you resort to "The Big Knob." My KX2 manual on page 15 says: -- enter one or two MHz digits, optionally followed by a decimal point and up to three kHz digits. Next tap enter (BAND) to accept, or any other switch to cancel. Having only used a K2 and a KX3, my experience agrees with your experience. If you enter as 14303, it should go to 14.303 MHz. I just tune by ear from there anyway.
