Speaking of solid-state amps I am a happy SPE 1K FA owner and it says you can go up to 3:1 but it isn't very happy above 2:1. Nor do I run the amp on anything above 2:1. The warranty is also invalidated if you use an external autotuner and it breaks. Still a real nice amp but everything has its pros and cons. On the other hand we are hard pressed to find a solid state amp that is happy at 2:1 SWR. I understood the note was <2:1. YesBUTthe SWR is NOT 2:1, it is LESS than 2:1. IMHO you will be hard pressed to find RF circuits that would be less than 2:1 SWR and cover that wide frequency range and if you do, you really need to look into marketing 'wishes' from that company!
