I've been using pro gold for years as well as de-oxit both are highly 
recomended for all connections.

a) Because the directions say wait 2 minutes before applying power and 
tha's about how long it takes to dry. And,
b) I don't like applying power to anything that looks wet  for any reason

Right, Dave, I did read the instructions.  But I was wondering if  
anyone knew why the instructions say to wait.  I guess if the carrier  
solution is conductive, even modestly so, it could mess up some  
sensitive circuits.  But there may be other reasons???
