A followup on this: I've gotten lots of input and help on this issue, on list and off. A local ham with K3 experience, and who owns a KX3, came over and gave my K3 a listen yesterday. All is good. Yes. Check the web site download pages and there should be a Archive of earlier releases. Also check for earlier betas. Phil, just loaded the same new revisions into my K3 and got the same impression, it sounds different. I read the release notes for this new revision and adjusted the CRYSTAL FILTER OFFSET to 0.1. Now it sounds like before! The notes are here: -- http://www.elecraft.com/K3/k3_software.htm It looks like the firmware load sets the offset (default) to 0.2. Hope this helps!
