Tom specifically says to use version 2.0 of com0com and not version 3.0. Version 3.0 will not work for Win4K3Suite or Win4K4Suite. Having been involved on the periphery of other software certification processes, I suspect that getting a driver Microsoft approved is an expensive process, both in terms of fees to Microsoft, and internal staff time. I think it is unlikely that you will get an approved driver which is not backed by large hardware sales to fund this process.
