Re: [Elecraft] resetting K2 clock
Rich, While you are attempting to set the clock, what does it do, and what does it not do each step of the setting procedure. Please give more detail. 73, Don W3FPR Rich Ardolino wrote: The clock in my K2 is running 1minute and 30 seconds fast. I've read/followed the Setting the Date and Time part of the KDSP2 instructions with no luck...it just doesn't respond as it should according to the instructions. I've also searched the archives for any references to resetting the clock but found nothing (not saying there is nothing there...I just couldn't find anything). Any advice/suggestions appreciated. RE: [Elecraft] Resetting K2?
Yes, you can reset your K2, and NO, don't reset your K2. Reset clears far more than you want/need to clear. The K2 will know the option is missing when it doesn't answer on the AUX BUS at power-up. Likewise, it will know when it's reinstalled later. Re: [Elecraft] Resetting K2?
Fred, be carefull with the K2 reset... My friend tried to make keying circuit for K2 to be able to keying his K2 from PC with diodes 1N4148 or so. After turning ON the K2 completelly crashed on there was not possible to do anything except the factory reset. After factory reset the K2 had BFO frequencies out of range, TX does not work etc. :( After going thru the BFO settings procedure seems that RX works well again but I do not know what happened with TX during the factory reset. (anybody know please?) So I can recommend to be carefull with factory reset as You can spend long time with re-alignment Your K2. 73, Petr OK1RP Původní zpráva Od: Fred (FL) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Předmět: [Elecraft] Resetting K2? Wow - long winded, for can I reset my K2? I'd like to clear the K2's throat, before I put another option card back in. :) Thanks, Fred N3CSY 6/27 __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! RE: [Elecraft] Resetting K2?
Fred, In a word, NO!!! Do not do a reset - you will have to re-enter all the settings for filters/BFOs, and any other parameters you have so carefully set into your K2. The firmware handles removal and replacement of options automatically with the AUXBUS signalling, you do not have to do anything to make that happen. While we are on the subject - if you have not done so, it is a good idea to write down the settings for these parameters. Download the A to B instructions from the Elecraft website, and you will find it has a nice chart where you can enter your filter settings an other menu items just in case something happens along the way and you have to re-enter them. 73, Don W3FPR -Original Message- I have to replace a questionalble KNB2 NB option, pcb card (populated).
