Re: [Elecraft] K3 Aux I/O and Dunestar 600 Bandpass filters
An advantage for using the KRC2 is that it can obtain the band data from the K3 RS-232 port and one does not have to wire to the 15 pin ACC connector. 73, Don W3FPR Dick Dievendorff wrote: > Of course the KRC2 will do this! Re: [Elecraft] K3 Aux I/O and Dunestar 600 Bandpass filters
You'll need a "band decoder". Try a Top Ten Devices Yaesu decoder or a Universal Microsystems BCD 10, which is very affordable. These devices convert from BCD to a separate wire per band. Re: [Elecraft] K3 Aux I/O and Dunestar 600 Bandpass filters
I use the same board/circuit I use to drive VHF transverters from my K3 to drive my Dunestar. The only difference is the K3 menu settings. I wrote it up at http://g4fre.com/k3vhf.pdf Dave ww2r Message: 14 Date: Fri, 16 Oct 2009 08:17:07 -0500 From: Ken Adams K5KA Subject: [Elecraft] K3 Aux I/O and Dunestar 600 Bandpass filters To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Message-ID: <4ad8725...@gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed I have searched archives galore and cannot find, or do not know how to search properly for interfacing the K3 to the Dunestar 600 Bandpass filters. Has someone built a cable that goes directly from the K3 Aux I/O port to the Dunestar such that it will automatically switch in the correct bandpass filter? 73, Ken K5KA __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] K3 Aux I/O and Dunestar 600 Bandpass filters
Ken, I looked on the Dunestar website and found that the model 600 needs decoded band selection. They mention the Top Ten Band Decoder. The K3 band data outputs are encoded (see the manual for the encoding chart), and so you will need some sort of band decoder between your K3 and the Dunestar filter. 73, Don W3FPR Ken Adams K5KA wrote: > I have searched archives galore and cannot find, or do not know how to > search properly for interfacing the K3 to the Dunestar 600 Bandpass > filters.
