Is there any chance that you tuned the VFO from another band (maybe 12 
meters) into the 10 meter band?  Try a Direct Frequency Entry into the 
10 meter band and see if it comes back.

Is the display dead?  If not when you tune does the frequency reading change?  
If you transmit does the red panel light come on?
