I would like to sell my perfectly working K1. Like new; no scratch. Has KFL1-4 (40-30-20-15 m), KNB1 noise blanker, KAT1 antenna tuner and KBT1 internal battery adapter. [Elecraft] VCO Alignment problem.
Re K2 875 I have a similar problem that Don, W3FPR had. On page 61, Turning L30 has no effect on voltage measured at R30, when frequency is at 4000 Khz. V is 8.35V. But adjusting L30 on other bands adjusts voltage! Checked L5: turns etc. C72, L30, OK. Any idea?. [Elecraft] Alignment and test, part III
Well, K2 4875 is coming... BUT: -On page 74...Why connect a key? Later in the instructions we do not use it, right? -On page 75, L1 and L2 have no effect on power when I hold TUNE which shows 0.4and stays there... -I did the receiver pre-alignment on page 76 (using an external transmitter as a signal source) and all went fine. [Elecraft] Photo correction suggestion.
I am now building the K2 (Nr 4875) and KSB2 ssb module. I notice that the pictures shown on the Elecraft web site are not up to date and according to the instructions. For example, they show R11 mounted on the component side and the instructions say to mount it on the other side. The construction pictures taken by PA3CEV are of an older version of the K2. I strongly suggest that Elecraft put up to date pictures on the web site. That surely would help builders of the otherwise fine products! [Elecraft] Sidetone level
Hi K2 friends! I have completed the building of my K2. Everything just works fine, except the sidetone. I hear a very weak sidetone. Adjusting ST P does change the frequency of the sidetone. But: Adjusting ST L from 0 to 255 has no effect on the sidetone level. The voltage at pin 1 of U8 remains constant at 5.0 V while I turn the tuning knob to change the setting from 0 to 255. Could this be an indication that U8 (MAX534) is defective or what? Suggestions, experts? I recently completed the construction of K2 N4 4875 and it works very well! Last year, I built K1 nr 1875 and I now realize that I wound ALL its toroids with one turn too much! But K1 works OK Would I gain anything by correcting my mistake and rewinding the toroids with the proper number of turns? What do our experts think? [Elecraft] K2-KBT2 battery
The battery in my K2, KBT2 does not charge any more. With 13,5 volts at J3 socket, I measure this same 13,5 v on the terminals of the battery, but it does not charge. The battery is 6 years old. Hi! I have a K1, with antenna tuner, noise blanker and internal battery. There are two unused holes, one on each side panel, with no screws in them. I"m looking in the manuals and I do not see where these holes are mentionned...
