Re: open source real chip design

This the reply from developer of webchip platform...

As you rightly pointed out, information on website is scarce and we don't
clearly state if the platform is free.

Our chip design platform is ready to use and we will be doing some webinar
to show how to use the platform for chip design.

However, we are yet working out plans with fabs to provide MPW services on
the platform for commercial designs and the business aspects. We will start
paid or pro plans once commercial /MPW services are available.

For individuals, educational customers and students we intend to keep
platform very very affordable. Currently it is free to use with only
limitation that the library used is not manufacturable so it's good for
learning chip design and VLSI education.

Platform can be used freely(now) from anywhere, anytime to implement
digital designs and chips. Please login using your Google account to gain
access to the platform under workbench-->VLSI
And open proton by typing proton on the terminal

(more video will be posted on how to use the platform)

Looks like a totally non-functional clone of efabless, with marketing
materials stolen from Aldec thrown in!

Information is scarce on their platform. There's no indication that the
web platform itself is free software. Could you point to me where you
could learn about this important detail?

Thanks,
