It will probably say "fork this repository and edit the file" as it needs to make a copy that you own to keep the changes until accepted. Then you can make the changes in the web editor and submit them as a pull request. Gentlemen, In the "Building LinuxCNC" (building-linuxcnc.html) document, section 6 Building on Gentoo the second sentence says "Be sure you are running a disktop profile."
