Candidate is to be a standards-certification management resource for the
corporation in terms of compliance and technical support of new and
existing products across multiple divisions. Duties include
professional communication with international standards organizations,
standards committees, legal counsel, and internal engineering staff as
well as manufacturing to ensure product adheres to appropriate
approvals. Responsible for analyzing, comprehending, and interpreting
complex certification standards, such as, UL, CSA, ANCE, ASTM, MIL, SAE,
ABS, FAA, ICEA, IEC, EN, and other qualification requirements based on
customer, design, or division specifications. Candidate will be
responsible for data submissions for certifications as well as product
knowledge with the ability to relate it to certifications providing
technical, testing, and design guidance for bringing new products to
market or adding product ratings to existing products. The Candidate
must have great tenacity, perseverance, and integrity -- setting an
example of leadership and direction in matters of product compliance.
Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and must be able to function
in a team environment while staying focused on individual
responsibilities. Candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize
with limited supervision and have the ability to perform independently
to achieve results. Critical thinking is a must in order to arrange a
multitude of information into a presentable form for certification
submissions. Candidate must be a creative, aggressive problem solver,
but must be flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to changes in
projects, deadlines, and company direction. Candidate must have the
perspective to understand what is important and the ability to work with
others at all levels throughout the corporation. Candidate must have
technical writing skills to support the type of communication expected
between the company and the certifying entity. Candidate will integrate
new testing capability into the satellite testing scope of the R&D
Center as well as support company staff with the necessary information
to keep products currents with certifying entities. Candidate is
expected to be extremely organized, focused, and detail oriented. The
role of the Certification Engineer will require reviewing test data for
certification as well as ensuring that all tests are properly
completed. This will include the creation of final reports for review
by the standards organizations. Since product development leads the
company into various areas around the world, being able to develop
professional contacts and creating business relationships with global
standards entities is also necessary.

_Qualifications and Experience Preference:_
Three to five years of experience with a regulatory compliance
background, though more would be preferable. Bachelor of Science in
Chemical Engineering or related field is recommended. The ability to
read and interpret technical standards, certifications, drawings,
catalog sheets, and test data is required. Experience in technical
report development is a must. Experience with UL, CSA, IEC and the
National Electric Code (NEC) would be useful. Must be able to travel up
to 25% of the time, and skill and experience in statistics and
statistical measurement analysis would be a plus.
