Hello Amund

2 years is normal transition period. So once standard EN IEC 62368-1:2023
+A11 +A12 will be adopted as harmonised standard, there will be a transition
period where both editions will be harmonised.

Amund,

TC108X responsible for EN IEC 62368-1 established WG6, to work on comments
from HAS consultants (they do assessment of draft standards for EU
commission). Currently comments received on CD/CDV version of EN IEC
62368-1:2023. We still wait for assessment of FDIS. However, WG6 prepared
answers to HAS consultants (3 consultants, one for LVD, one for RED and one
for GPSD). I hope we will get some more info on the TC108X meeting end of
November. I hope we can get new harmonised standard end of 2024. Therefore
EN 62368-1:2014 will remain valid for min 2 more years in EU.

If a standard is listed in the OJ, it continues to provide a "presumption of
conformity" even it has been "withdrawn" by the standards committee.

The 2020 version of 62368-1 will not be listed in the OJ

The 2023 version of 62368-1 was rejected by the EU Commission but it looks
as though CENELEC voting will see it published anyway.

IEC test reports and CB certificates are not required for CE marking and
they remain valid in other countries until those national authorities have
withdrawn them

Hi all

Any news about the future standing for the EN62368-1 : 2014?

My understanding is that EN62368-1 : 2020 is still not listed in OJ, even
though it should replace EN62368-1 : 2014 in June 2024.

In parallel, EN62368-1 : 2023 is still under work and what do we expect as a
date to replace 2014 and 2020 version?

In our case, we have a CB test certificate & report according to EN62368-1 :
2014 and would hope it would be valid at least a year or two more.

[PSES] SV: [PSES] EN 62368-1 : 2014

2023-11-01 Thread Amund Westin

2022-12-07 Thread Charlie Blackham
Scott

My understanding is that the extension is purely so that there is not an
expired standard listed in the OJ for the LVD – that’s all

There is no legal link between the dates in a standard and compliance with a
Directive

A manufacturer is free to use whatever standards they wish for compliance with
LVD and article 3.1(a) of the RED, but only Harmonised Standards currently
listed in the OJ provide a Presumption of Conformity

That's what it SHOULD be, but for some reason it was proposed to withdraw
from EN 62368-1 the text that allows parts conforming to the older standards
to be used, with no date of withdrawal specified. Many National Committees
have said that it must not be withdrawn until 2020-12-20, but there is no
official decision yet, hence chaos..

The EU Commission are "aware" of this, the last update to the LVD OJEU was to
add "take into account the new status of the 60335-2-9"
There are a number of updates in the pipeline and they are working with CENELEC.

Dear all,

There was new EU official journey published on Sep 08 2017, however still DoW
20.06.2019 is mentioned for EN 62368-1. Is anyone familiar about it? It is very
important topic for customer who need to change certification for EN 60950-1
into EN 62368-1. Cenelec web page shows DoW as Dec 20, 2020.
