Machine builders have been watching the deliberations on the
implementation of EN ISO 13849, Safety of Machinery – Reliability of
Safety Related Parts of Control Systems, for the last few months since
an announcement by the EC that the mandatory implementation date had
been extended in September, followed by a retraction of that
announcement in October.

This past Monday and Tuesday the EC Machinery Working Group met to
discuss the situation. Find out more at Machinery Safety 101!
