Japan also has the JEITA for members. This includes Harmonics tested at
100V and an impedance network.

Kim,

Here is my understanding:

EMCVCCI member = CISPR 22 compliance + cert
non-member = no certification or confirmation

Safety ITE should comply to IEC 60950, but no certification
ITE AC/DC adapters required to obtain cert + PSE mark

Re: ITE in Japan

Hi,

In Japan, Safty and EMC are mandatory.
But we can use DoC route.

VCCI(only EMC) is voluntary. Check follwing Web.site.
http://www.vcci.or.jp/vcci_e/index.html

You can get information about safty following Web.
http://member.nifty.ne.jp/tsato/terms/denan-e.html
VCCI is voluntary, but Japanese safty law includes EMC requirement.

Thank you,

 Hi all

What is the status for Japan concerning both EMC and Elec. safety is it
 still voluntary to comply ?

What is the best place to seek information ?

 Best regards,
