Re: [Emc-users] Anyone coming to the CNC Workshop?

2011-06-15 Thread Dale Grover
I plan on being there at least some of the time, and I think Tom
Easterday (brought his Emco F1 last year) may also be coming.

Thursday evening we're having an open house at Maker Works for CNC
Workshop attendees. It's an 11,000 sq ft membership-based shop that
will have a full wood shop, metal shop, electronics lab, fabric,
plastic, laser, etc. Please stop by! Still setting up machines,
several weeks from opening, but you can get the idea.
www.maker-works.com We'll have details/maps at the workshop.

Hope to see some of you soon.

For what Matt, the entertainment value? Because of my knowledge of
electronics, I can occasionally expound to some of the others benefit, but,
looking at my contributions, I see a pretty heavy negative balance, and
it's I who own this group a big salute and an occasional round just for
putting up with this old farts questions.

That is one of the reasons I'd like to come to one of these things, I'd
like to say thanks in person. And drop the card for a round once the gojo
is rinsed off the hands for the day.

Besides, I think my hair is about as long as SWP's these days. ;-)

 Thanks,
 Matt

Sounds very interesting, Jon. I've looked at extrusion based RPS and have not

There is/was a guy who was planning to come out with a kit about August,
then he sent a message
that he would not be saying any more or answering any questions, he may
have been bought
out, or maybe he is just waiting to get his kit finished, language
barrier made it hard to be sure
what he was saying. He posted an awesome video, then he replaced it
with one that revealed less
about the process.

But, we have a group where others are not trying to duplicate and then
extend his process (he revealed
a LOT before he clammed up.) That is at :
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/diy_3d_printing_and_fabrication/

You have to join, but it is a typical Yahoo group. The archives contain
a lot of fascinating
links, including links to a youtube video by Jose Carlos (Junior) and
some others that have
developed similar machines.

Yes, I will be there for sure! I'm giving 3 seminars - hope my voice
holds out. Otherwise,
it will all be the same old stuff, there really is embarrassingly little
new development on my
end. But, I hope somebody else will have something exciting. I've been

I've just been talking with Stephen Wille Padnos about pick and place

conflicts, so I'm not sure if he will make it or not.
