I am not sure Andy, from where its at on the Y nut, the word convenient
is even in the same book. :(

In fact, a trip to my local small engine shop for a few yards of weed
eater fuel line might be in order. I put a couple pieces of that, from
an oil manifold on the post, so I can run some vactra into those
miniscule nuts in the toy mill. That seems to be working fairly well as
it was leaking out past the felt wipers for both when I last had it
apart.

The x screw on the lathe had one of these zerks in it, and a 1/4 pump
about monthly seems to be keeping the screw rust-proofed.

If you can't find it in the online catalog, call the nearest store and

A search of their online catalog last night didn't show but two types,
the std 3 or 4 jaw snapon's that are about 9/16 in diameter or the
needle thingy for u-joints. And only 1 size for the zerk ball. I have 2
sizes of those in the toolbox, the metric version seems to only be
about .210 in diameter IIRC.

If you work for a big company, have a business card and they might be
able to get you the 'big company' discount, if the company does enough
business with them to get volume discounts (without reporting it to
the company if that is an issue).

 Try
 http://www.grainger.com/category/fittings/lubrication/ecatalog/N-9ik?r
edirect=grease+fitting for a starter

I will, that doesn't look like a link I saw last night. Thanks.

incomplete copy/paste.

But it only showed me 4 fittings, 3 in zerk, one in some sort of a
pressure vent cap.

Tried to fine tune it, but was not able to get it to show me the nipple
connector used on a grease gun. So I guess I'll just make room for
the guns I have. And hope that isn't removing something else needed for
the nuts clamping. Its a bit primative IMO, cap screws used a
clamping setscrews. Y version is not terrible accessible either.

But today, if the rains hold off (whats left of Bill is drifting thru), I
want to make another try at getting a piece of cat5 to the machine.
The %$#@%$ wall is full of nails and I'm demolishing a 3/4 ship auger
everytime I try to drill a thru hole that I can stick a 16' piece of
1/2 copper thru, and get it close enough at the other side of the music
room that I can fish it the last foot into the basement. And the whole
area is full of cocoon insulation. Fun its not. One hole actually goes
thru the first two barriers, and 3 others ran into nails when I moved
about 24 in the direction what would make it a straight thru shot, so
today I sharpen the bit again, and see if I can move the inside hole,
about 8 in, an inch or two to the right to aim the copper pipe at a
better angle. I only have a 1/2 block tall, block a half wide target
to aim at. I'll need to cover the other 3 attempts to discourage rodent
access.

Maybe I'll get that 5i25 from PCW today. Maybe.

[Emc-users] Question on grease fitting, required clearance around for gun access?

2015-06-19 Thread Gene Heskett
Greetings;

In the process of doing some trial assemblies of the motor to screw
adaptors, I noted that there was only perhaps a fraction of an mm of
clearance at best on 2 sides of the zerk style fitting installed in the
Y nut, so I backed that adaptor off the nut and made some more
clearance, but I don't think I have enough yet. Is there a cad drawing
I can look at that shows how much is required in order to access it with
a std, genuine Chinese imported for Merican usage, grease gun? The type
with the mini-cartridge that I keep 2 or so preloaded with either auto
style, or lubriplate BB grades of grease. For that push on, bend off
connection, it will need nearly 1/8 of clearance all around the nipple.
Or am I behind the state of the art, and there is now a miniature
version of that which I could retrofit my hand pumped small guns with?

Thanks.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
