Re: [E-devel] GIT Migration Update - Everything is up and running (but still not used)

2013-02-04 Thread Daniel Juyung Seo
Hello Tom, this is my report.
I tested build, elementary_test, and E17.

1. Clean Ubuntu 12.04
OK

2. Clean Ubuntu 12.10
OK

3. Ubuntu 12.04 + latest EFL installed.
Build break.

/usr/local/lib/libevas.so.1: undefined reference to `eina_seed'
/usr/local/lib/libedje.so.1: undefined reference to `EO_DBG_INFO_TYPE'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [bin/ethumb_client/ethumbd_client] Error 1
make[4]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs
/usr/local/lib/libevas.so.1: undefined reference to `eina_seed'
/usr/local/lib/libedje.so.1: undefined reference to `EO_DBG_INFO_TYPE'

4. Ubuntu 12.10 + EFL 1.7 branches installed

Failed due to ecore x changes.
I need manual fix for this and gave up because I am lazy.

So my needs for VMs are down to 2 or 3.

[E-devel] [Eina PATCH] Fix directory listing in eina_file_direct_ls()

2013-02-04 Thread Paulo Alcantara
XFS and other filesystems that do not support d_type field in dirent
structure will get unexpected behavior when using eina_file_direct_ls()
- since it relies on d_type to determine file types.

Thus, an eina_file_statat() call is required in eina_file_direct_ls()
only if the file type had not been determined by using readdir_r().

I've just got such issue when using elementary_config to change current
profile - but it wasn't able to list the avaiable profiles since the
diretory entries in share/elementary/ were not recognized by
eina_file_direct_ls() function.

From 5c19d6768567e31df2ef72aa450e377584d12c6b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001
From: Paulo Alcantara pca...@profusion.mobi
Date: Fri, 1 Feb 2013 02:56:05 -0200
Subject: [PATCH] efl/eina: Fix directory listing in eina_file_direct_ls()

On XFS filesystems, for example, file types cannot be determined by using
readdir_r() function to list directory entries - since the d_type field
in dirent structure is not supported by XFS.

Thus, whether we got DT_UNKNOWN in d_type or dirent structure does not
have d_type (!_DIRENT_HAVE_D_TYPE), then we should try to get file type
with eina_file_statat() (which will work in a filesystem-independent
way) as the last try.

Cool. Thanks for sharing it. With the merged tree its quite different
but I still think that some pieces are useful in there.

Thanks, indeed it's not up-to-date at all, worked 2 years ago...

When we get to the point that we start this as a service on e.org I
would be glad to incorporate some of it. Would you also be interested in
helping maintaining and improving such a jenkins setup for E?

I can't promise to have much free time for it, but I'll be glad to
help the Enlightenment project as much as I can. I follow it since a
looong time. :) My life unfortunately give very little time
for me to involve, and I know it's important, but anyway if I can
 help, I'll be glad.

Totally fine if you have no time at all. Thats how FOSS projects run. If
you have time and interest at any time just let me know.

I have close to zero knowledge in server administration, so I'm not
sure about the servlet container, java stuff and other related
maintenance tasks, but I use Jenkins everyday at work so I can help
 admin the Jenkins part maybe.

Yeah, that could maybe help as well. It will take some time before I get
to anything related to setting this up anyway.

No, this is the expected behavior. You should have used eina_file_stat_ls().

I've just got such issue when using elementary_config to change current

diretory entries in share/elementary/ were not recognized by
 eina_file_direct_ls() function.

This patch should not go in.
