Re: [e-users] E18 crash on Debian 6.0.8

2014-01-14 Thread Fan Cris
i jut build e18 on steamos wich i think is debian7 X64, no crashes so far
i see on terminology a lot of:
ERR19594:eo lib/eo/eo_ptr_indirection.x:275 _eo_obj_pointer_get() obj_id
(nil) is not pointing to a valid object. Maybe it has already been freed.

I have a specific reason for using Debian 6.08 -- another part of the

You show aptitude package output for I'm presuming source packages.
Where did these packages come from?

  Couple questions:
  * Have you tried to build from tarballs from enlightenment.org?
  ** no

They are packages I created from the tarballs from enlightenment.org.

  * Did you already have e1[67] installed?
  ** yes

Yes, I had E17 installed and I believe I removed *all* remnants of that
 install.

Oh, BTW: E18 also crashes on Debian 7, and yes it also had E17 installed
 and
yes I believe I removed *all* remnants of that install.

Is there something I can check to be totally sure E17 was properly cleaned
 off?

[e-users] Slideshow module for changing background images

2014-01-14 Thread Kevin Martin
Does anybody know where I can find the Slideshow module source code that will
run with e18? There was once, apparently, a
downloadable rpm for Fedora (17 I think) but it's no longer around and wouldn't
necessarily have worked with e18 anyway so if
anybody can help me I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

change. I even restarted from the enlightenment menu to see if that

in conjunction with another one, or some other setting somewhere. The
original top-right-corner pop-ups displayed in Unity, too, if that
makes a difference.

On a similar note, is there any documentation on what these various
modules do, and how to use them? A lot of them use abbreviations and
don't even have a one-line description (DBus Extension? AT-SPI D-Bus
Bus?). Just asking about these specifically, because i came across the
phrase d-bus a few times while trying to figure this problem out.

Thanks,
