Same here. Would be awesome to have such a feature built-in in E17, or
at least make it enough NETWM compatible to use skippy-xd :)

I would if I knew how and had the time...6 weeks until school is over
for the year, I may try to implement it myself. It's a shame we can't
start from scratch and draw with OpenGL and get it working as well as
 it does on OS X.

Is there anyone around here that knows enough to get me started? Any
 help would be greatly appreciated.

[e-users] Expose clone?

2005-10-25 Thread Lachlan Gunn
Hi,
I was just wondering, has anyone made (or planning to make) a clone of
Expose, similar to OS X for Enlightenment?

For those not in the know, Expose lets you temporarily tile all your
windows on the screen for simplified task switching.

There's already something like this called skippy. :-)

But OK I cheated, it hasn't been created with the EFLs...

How did you get skippy running with E16? I get this if I start skippy:

 skippy
X Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private
resource denied) Major opcode of failed request: 33 (X_GrabKey)
Serial number of failed request: 90
Current serial number in output stream: 90

2005-10-25 Thread Paulo Jorge Matos
Probably an E16 issue, everything runs ok in Gnome for example, in E16
I get the same thing. My conclusion by the time this was talked in the
list was that it was that skippy was not usable in E16.

Maybe skippy-xd will work, who knows... :)

Cheers,

Paulo Matos

That means something else has already grabbed the key that skippy was
planning to use (IIRC it uses F12 by default, and e16 has already
grabbed F12 as the switch to desktop 12 key, or something like that).
Using a different key (I have KP_Enter) works fine.

This was long time back. But as far as I remember I think I used
e-conf and liberated the F12 key. And everything worked normally.

But for E17, well I didn't have any luck making it work. I get:

FATAL: WM not NETWM or GNOME WM Spec compliant.
