Yes, let's not forget that MSI is Windows only. With CCK2, we can use the same config files on different OS. Personally, I like the current setup once I got Puppet going. The reason is consistent configuration for Windows, Linux and Mac. I wouldn't want to do 2 or more attempts to apply the same configuration across the platforms, at that point, I lose a lot of benefit from Firefox. In a large organization, it's MUCH more less painfully to configure Firefox preferences with a Group Policy. This way permits you to set different configurations for OU/Groups.
