It might be worth opening a bug with this suggestion (that this file not be
in roaming)

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] What is 3870112724rsegmnoittet-es.sqlite

2020-10-08 Thread Timo Pietilä

Is there a reason why it is in roaming -part of the user profile?

Nevermind, most of things in FF and TB profiles are things that don't
need to be in roaming. They are there for old habit of having absolute
minimum support for windows which is now hard to change without breaking
downward compatibility I guess.

It is just annoying to see that whenever there is a roaming full top two
things that fill it are always Firefox and Thunderbird.

Maybe UE-V will save us from that nightmare.

Top-posting seems appropriate here.

Some preferences don't exist if they have default values.
You should be able to create and set it.

One of the comments says you can set:

  "dom.indexedDB.dataThreshold" pref to "-1".

Unfortunately I don't have a better answer. That file is used for our
remote settings database which can be that big.

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] What is 3870112724rsegmnoittet-es.sqlite

2020-10-06 Thread Timo Pietilä

Unfortunately no such pref exist in TB or FF.

Also it isn't GB -size large, just 10+MB, but that is large enough to
cause problems in roaming profiles.

I just changed all dom.indexed -prefs to false, maybe that helps with it
getting large.

Maybe I can change permissions do that FF/TB can't write in that
directory just to see if that has any effect on FF/TB. If it doesn't I
consider making that change university-wide.

If that is not needed why is it "permanent"?

How can I get rid of it? It eats up a lot of roaming space.

It's used for storing indexedDB data for internal pages. There is a bug for
the growth:

One of the comments says you can set:

What is 3870112724rsegmnoittet-es.sqlite (and other files like that),
