There is already a compat-lua in EPEL8

Thanks.. I was looking for the wrong name scheme. My apologies.

Arguably, you were looking for the correct name scheme. compat-lua is the wrong
one.

You could make a lua5.1-lpeg package.
I know that's not ideal, having to keep things in sync, but if you
don't expect much change in the package, it's not too bad.

[EPEL-devel] lua5.1-lpeg for EPEL8

2019-10-22 Thread Tomas Krizek
Hi,

I'm trying to build lua-http package for EPEL8, which has lua-lpeg as a
dependency.

While lua-lpeg was maintained in EPEL7, it was moved to the base
distribution with RHEL8.

The issue is there are two versions of lua - 5.3 and 5.1. And I need the
package for both lua versions. This is how the lua-lpeg package is set
up in EPEL7. But in RHEL8, there is only lua-lpeg for lua 5.3.

How can I resolve this situation? Do I file a bug against RHEL8 and hope
the lua-lpeg package for lua 5.1 will be included in next release? Or is
it possible to get an exception for EPEL8, so that I could build the
package for lua 5.1 only?

Thanks for any help!
