[EPEL-devel] Forcing Python minor version in EPEL builds

2023-01-07 Thread Mark E. Fuller

Hi Folks,

I am looking to update one of my packages in EPEL 8 and Python3.6 was
dropped.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to edit my spec
file `buildrequires` and the macros to enforce Python 3.7 (or higher)
instead of Python 3.6 anto do it "the right way", not a kludge?

Thank you,

[EPEL-devel] EPEL: packaging multiple versions and compat packages

2022-09-05 Thread Mark E. Fuller

Hi all,

Can someone point me to a good resource on how (if permitted) I can make
appropriate compat(?) packages to allow for two major versions of the
same package to be available?

Is this allowed for EPEL?

Thanks

If Blaine can't pick up the package, it looks simple enough that I would be
willing to take it over and update it

I think the non-response maintainer process should be started.
