[EuroPython] Which accomodation did I book?
Hi, I just registered. On the invoice there is a "note for people staying at SGS Veckobostader". But I have not seen any information which accomodation I booked... Another issue: am I the only one that only discovered that I did only book accomodation the first time? I think putting the "attendance selection" dropdown default to "normal attendee" would make a lot of sense. It is the registration form that you are filling in after all... Maybe this should be changed. Oh and one other tip: use a tracker to receive all such emails. I've organised a 2500+ people event last year and we would not have survived without it. (we used RT3 which is Perl based. It has a webinterface, a mail interface and a commandline interface. Especially the ability to store FAQ answers in the database and to be able to resolve a group of tickets at once are crucial features. I don't know whether there is a python or zope based tracker that has similar ones) -- __ "Nothing is as subjective as reality" Reinoud van Leeuwen[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.xs4all.nl/~reinoud __ ___ EuroPython mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/europython

Be warned: I used this last summer for another congress where I was part of the organisation. At one moment Paypal decided that they had a reason to close our paypal account. >From that moment on we tried to contact *somebody* at paypal. There is no email address you can send mail to (only a webform with very little space). There is no phone number, no street address. Our laywer spent several days unsuccessfully trying to reach somebody to find out what paypal *thought* the problem was. Basically our conclusion was that it is a totally unreliable service for anything serious. If you keep on using it, be very sure to get all your money out of it on a daily basis and put it on a real bank account. -- __ "Nothing is as subjective as reality" Reinoud van Leeuwen[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.xs4all.nl/~reinoud __ ___ EuroPython mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/europython

Most servers I manage (about 400) I've never seen IRL.
