I don’t know about any list, but a lot of us are indeed shown on the
PlugShare app.

[EVDL] Think city car power limit light.

2021-02-02 Thread Steve Clunn via EV
I'm troubleshooting a city car for somebody which runs quite normal and
then for no apparent reason the limit light comes on and the car slows down
to a creep. Turning the key off and on restarts the car and it will again
Drive Normal for 50feet to a mile. I've investigated the 12 volt system
which seems to be operating good maintaining 14.2 volts and does not seem
to fluctuate when the limit light comes on. Batteries are charged all the
way up. Would be willing to pay a consultation fee to someone who's worked
on these quite a bit. Any ideas are welcome. Steve Clunn

Re: [EVDL] Updating old EV truck with genset?

2021-02-02 Thread Lawrence Rhodes via EV
Under no circumstances is this a good idea. Wait for the Cybertruck. From my
experience and for the money I can not make a better vehicle than the OEM. You
would be better off cutting the back end off a Leaf or Bolt and make a truck
out of that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R35gWBtLCYg Kinda like the Subaru
Brat of old. However if you towed solar panels and put them up while parked you
might have some success. Lawrence Rhodes

The openinverter.org community has been able to make many combinations
of components work together, either with CANbus control, or with open
source based control boards.

Have you actually tried that? Saying it is easy, but from what I've read,
actually getting bits of the Prius drive system to work outside of the
Prius's complex computer-controlled environment isn't trivial. Has anyone
here succeeded?

You may be right, but shouldn’t assume that the original poster has as an

apparently many reasons  why some like EVs as a hobbyist.
