Has anyone noticed the website evalbum.com  not 
functioning? I have tried numerous times in the past few days and it 
does not open up.


Anyone know anything?

I was about to try to refute your numbers.? But, I checked and found you
correct.? This climb in value has seemed (to me) to have lasted longer.

I will caution that prior performance is not necessarily a predictor of
future.? But, I will venture that failure for Tesla now seems near
impossible.

[EVDL] Redwood Materials - Good NEWS, but REMEMBER...

Dear EV Folks:

I am sure it was not J.B. Straubel's fault or even my friend Paul Scott 
who told me about QuantumScape and Strubel's involvement, and Solid 
State Li Ion Battery breakthrough, where I proceeded to sell off some 
perfectly good TESLA stock and buy into QS !


Then the report surfaced that their data was based on some small 
batteries in the Lab, and not a real 100% Breakthrough, ready for Prime 
Time.


The rest is History.  From a high of over $120 a share down to $20 
something..


So lets HOPE that Redwood Materials Inc.  does much better, in 
everything they do.  We need them to.

The ONE given to Western University in Bellingham Wa, was put back 
together with parts from the place in Arizona who has a lot of S-10 
electric parts. Dr. Seal is now retired, but his grad students in 
EEnginering got it running.  It is a gray one, and there are pictures of

[EVDL] Fatal TESLA Crash in Florida

Most unfortunate...  But I would think,  ANY car or SUV traveling at 
such a HIGH VELOCITY, to pass under the trailer of a truck-n-trailer rig 
enough to take off the whole roof of the car, and fling the car 3/10ths 
of a mile passed the point of impact, the terrible  results would be the 
same.   But HEY...  It's a TESLA so lets give it all the negative press !

It is no secret that Teslas are among the safest vehicles on the road today.
Being constructed from a hybrid of aluminum and ultra-high strength steel,
Tesla?s electric cars can take a beating. Thanks to their all-electric
design, the vehicles also feature generous crush zones to protect its
passengers in the event of an accident. Sometimes, though, Teslas get
involved in traffic incidents that are so unusual, they have to be seen to
be believed.

Take this particular accident shared by the Beverly Hills Police Department
on their Instagram account, for example. Before 2018 ended, the BHPD
uploaded an image that pretty much looked almost like it was photoshopped.
The image featured the aftermath of an incident involving a Subaru SUV
crashing into a parked Tesla Model S. According to the BHPD, they were
informed that the driver of the Subaru swerved to avoid an animal on the
road, which caused the SUV to skid and almost roll over. Unfortunately for
the Tesla, it was parked on the path of the SUV.

[EVDL] Guys ICE-ing EV Charging

I hate to say it, but it just feels like more of the same.. Making fun 
of folks with disabilities, or people with accents or skin 
pigment...different than yours.


But to answer the question...  Washington State has legislation on the 
books against ICE-ing,  but it is up to each individual municipality or 
town to enforce the law as best they can.

[EVDL] IT has FINALLY Happened - EV Domination

Today the electric Volkswagen I.D. R racer beat set a new overall Pikes 
Peak International Hill Climb record, racing up to 14,115 feet in a 
stunningly quick 7:57.148. The previous overall record of 8:13.878 was 
set in 2013 by Sébastien Loeb in a Peugeot 208 T16.

[EVDL] A Living legend - Dave Cloud has passed from this LIFE

Words can not describe the sadness I am feeling this afternoon. Loy,  
Dave Cloud's wife, just called me and told me that Dave passed away 
earlier today.


His life work will be remembered long after many of us join him in that 
Big EV Garage in the Sky.


He was like a brother in arms to me.  We dreamed big dreams together.  
The big difference is that money or the lack of hardware never stopped 
him from just going to the work shop and making it happen.

two days.

[EVDL] Answering Mark's question about Battery Monitoring

It's a small world.  I remember you from the EVDL years ago. Yes, I 
highly recommend the i-MiEV.  It's the little car that can, with more 
effective cargo space than most small "SUVs" and has a much 
better-engineered battery than Nissan.
My 2012 still yields well over the factory ratings, with an 84-mile 
estimate on the excellent Range Remaining gauge just a couple of weeks 
ago as I crossed the 61,000 mile mark.  The Mitsu RR meter is more 
accurate than the LEAF guessometer, but is only based on the most recent 
15 miles of driving.


For observing battery health and all other metrics on the car, there is 
a great free Android utility called CANIon,

A paid app by the name EVBatMon is iPhone compatible, and it is the best 
way to get an accurate capacity rating other than the Mitsubishi MUT-III 
tool.  CANion does a good job of reporting individual cell voltages and 
showing the pack's balance, but consensus has BatMon ahead on measuring 
capacity.

You have to be careful which OBD-II adaptor you purchase, as there are 
different compatibility lists for CANion and BatMon.

[EVDL] Should I buy...?

Looks like my first response to this question of Mark's didn't get 
posted, so here we are again.


Of all the EV's for sale out there,  Mitsubishi has done the poorest job 
of marketing ( in the US..)
In Europe under Peugot, and Citron, they have sold Ten's of Thousands..  
In the US, I don't think they have sold 10,000  yet... Countless 
negative automotive reviews.  One really made me mad. This gal said that 
it was like a slug for acceleration.   REALLY. Zero to 20 cross a normal 
intersection.  Zero to 55 MPH in 1.5 normal blocks.  Just under 770 in 
the 1/4...   and 80 MPH+ when my wife is not in the car... ( LOL )


For me,   I am totally satisfied with my  Mi-EV...  Pronounced  " My - 
EV"  IT is a top of the line with DVD, MP3, CD, Nav system, Heated 
seat,  BACK up Camera, Blue Tooth fone, and Delux Stereo system and LED 
Lighting.   It's a 2012...  and the Waranty is now out to 2022 !!!  You 
can find these used MY-EV's for round $8000. or LESS. That's My two Cents.

The only thing I ever heard was on EVTV. Jack bought a smart EV that had no 
battery and tried to buy one.  He mailed a letter to the head of smart USA and 
they said they would sell him a battery for 12,100. I think in a later video he 
tried to buy one but they never did sell him one. So he asked them for the CAN 
messages so he could build his own and they said that was proprietary. It is 
about 8:30 on the video.

EValbum.com convert one from gas like another guy did on an 05' model - but
it would be nice to have regen.

[EVDL] Seattle EV Enthusiast HONORED by his High School Alumni Association

For our 36 years of education, demonstration, and proliferation of 
electric transportation.  I was inducted into the Franklin High School 
Alumni HALL OF FAME.  The other folks inducted for 2016 included world 
renowned surgeon, a famous Chinese movie star, well known sound 
engineer,  and yes,  one used car salesman turned environmentalist and 
EV GuruME !   My acceptance speech can be seen by going to Youtube, 
and type in "Franklin Hall of Fame"  or visit my facebook page.  It was 
a great honor to be added to the Hall of Fame, and an honor to address 
the crowd on behalf of Electric Cars.

[EVDL] Wave 2016 European EV Rally

main guy Louis Palmer.  Came through Seattle some years ago.

Many folks from the SEVA group wish to contact the fellow with the early 
50's Buick,  which received a trophy for his conversion
and they wish tp ask him more detail about their conversion.  90+ MPH in 
a 50's Buick is something worth knowing about.


Kind of reminds me of what Mitch, and Bloodshed Motors is doing with 
vintage Hot Rod's from the 60's and 70's in Austin TX.
 By the way Black Zombie 222 has spawned TWO orders ! Congratulations 
!   One for another 60's Mustang, and one 4 door Lincoln !!

 So Mitch, and John Wayland are very busy again.

[EVDL] Repairs Needed

Afternoon EVDL,  from a very soggy Seattle:

Can any one REPAIR my ClipperCreek LSC-25 ?

 It was on the north side of our home here in Seattle, where it has 
operated for over 2 years.,

and was out of harms way by weather for the most part.

But if any one has been following the Weather in the Pacific NW,  we 
have hadFLOODS,  Mud Slides, and record rain fall.


So water finally got into the bottom of the unit.  And no amount of 
drying and cleaning has brought it back to LIFE.


Only an inch or so of the bottom of the circuit board was exposed to 
water, and ruined several components


Have not found any one who could replace or source the board.  Have a 
inquiry into ClipperCreek.


A whole NEW unit is $379.  But the cord, the housing and alike are all OK.
 Shame to buy a whole new unit for the lack of a new board.

Hey Folks:

Don't know if any one out there is a Si-Fi fan, but if you catch the new 
CBS series EXTANT with Holly Berry playing an astronaut who comes back 
from a SOLO  mission  pregnant !! ???


All the CARS in the series are either Tesla-S's,  or BMW i3,  and I 
think I even saw a Tesla-X in one scene..


Even had one scene with a Tesla-S with a RED-n-Blue police lite bar on 
the roof.   COOL !!

[EVDL] Gasless on Greenwood Ave 6/28

One of the largest Hot Rod, and Custom Car Shows in the Pacific NW, is 
held annually on Greenwood Ave in NW Seattle
Over 800 cars participate, and it is not uncommon to have a 10,000 
spectator count.


The Seattle EV Association feels strongly that it may be the most 
significant meeting between the general public and

the EV community in all the West.

For the third year in a row, our club is the largest car club in the 
whole show at 40 electric cars.


Here is a partial list:

VIA Motors Silverado,  Cadillac ELR,  Leaf's, Tesla roadsters, and S's, 
Mitsubishi Mi-EV ( pronounced My EV ), Ford Ranger EV, Custom Honda 
Del-Sol EV, Custom 85 Corvette Electric, Custom Lotus Elite EV, The 
Famous White Zombie, Custom 1950 Studibaker Pick Up EV, Custom late 
model BMW EV, Ford Transit EV, Toyota RAV4 EV by Tesla,  Fiat 500e, to 
name just a few.


We will take LOTS of pictures, and Post a LINK to the photo album early 
next week.

Anyway, I re-recorded John Metric's 165 mph run in 20 seconds down in 
Texas a while back, and sent it to KUOW's The Record program where they 
play a little 1 minute segment called Sounds of the Day  30 seconds or 
less... each day.


Here was my PITCH to them:

Then let them know it was my friend John Metric of Texas driving his
