Find out how many bars the car has left and you have a decent indicator of
current range, as well as a guidance how it will progress, there are online
calculators that predict the range remaining in future.

   current range

While this is probably true if you find a car at a junkyard, or a
private seller, my understanding is the Nissan sometimes resets the bars
when they are working on the car, so cars coming off lease may say that
they have all bars when in fact the battery has lost some capacity. It
will go back to the correct reading after a few cycles.

$5K is a lot of money for a 2011 Leaf
I have one valued at $1200 with a clean title and 150K miles, 50K on the first
battery and 100K on the second battery.
I am currently at 68% SOH and 50 mile range freeway @60MPH; 40 miles if heater
is used. A/C on low is not much of an impact on range
For $5K I wouldn't touch it

USA Today published an article [
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2019/07/08/tesla-electric-cars-women-elon-musk/1616632001/
] yesterday with the headline “Why Tesla ‘has a problem appealing to women’:
Electric cars, Elon Musk may be off-putting.”

The article goes on to talk with a couple of women who described why they
don’t want a Tesla and list their own reasons — and that’s fine. However,
they don’t represent all women, especially many female Tesla owners and
female Tesla fans planning to purchase a Tesla.

The article mentioned that several reasons Tesla is supposedly struggling to
sell vehicles to women. One of those was “distaste for the macho image
projected by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.”

It was also mentioned that Teslas are seen more like toys. As a woman, I
personally tend to disagree with that, while also understanding why someone
would see Tesla as a toy. Speaking of toys, women are allowed to have fun,
too. Life is too short not to enjoy your favorite things.

Tesla still has the image of being a luxury car despite the fact that you
can get one starting at $35,000, or $399 a month with Tesla’s leasing
program.

However, I am just one woman who is a fan of Tesla and plans for my first
car to be a Tesla. Since I am just one person, I reached out to several
ladies I know on Twitter who happen to own and love their Teslas.

I asked them these questions:
Why did you choose Tesla and why do you love your car?

Kristen
I absolutely love @Tesla ??

Kristen says:

“I chose Tesla in a deeper sense because it’s more than a car company. Tesla
acknowledges life, it acknowledges our planet. It has set a mission to make
clean energy offset CO2 from legacy car makers industry. Elon isn’t just
flippantly creating an industry disruption to pin to his list of
accomplishments. He’s passionate about correcting the horrendous onslaught
of the anthropogenic mess we are bathing in.

“I believe in the beauty and functionality of that The Tesla, aside from the
environmental eco-stewardship, is a powerful car. I can’t drive a gutless
vehicle. It has to have power. I highly enjoy driving, I am very kinesthetic
and spatially inclined. Tesla will pass cars ridiculously with ease. It’s an
immediate thought to action response. No lag like an ICE vehicle. Plus they
are stunning. I have no desire to look at other cars. I am very pleased.

“I research every car I purchase. Horsepower, crash ratings, long term
stability, consumer reviews, internal space,

A 12-year-old girl has been putting cards on electric vehicles to thank
drivers for helping to save the planet.

Charlotte Smith, from Solihull, decided to write the cards after completing
a primary school science project about the benefits of electric engines.

She has since received her own thank you letter from the Queen and travelled
as far as Norway on her mission to thank people.

Her father says it is "absolutely the right thing to do".

Charlotte first learned about electric vehicles (EV) two years ago, as part
of a science project at St Alphege C of E Junior School.

She said: "I didn't want to villainise non-electric car drivers but to thank
those who have already made the change.

"I designed the card with that in mind and gave them out where I live.

"Since then we've been loaned electric cars to go and thank drivers all over
the country. It's quite surreal."

brain, heart and lungs

Charlotte's father Steven, 52, who left his role as a software engineer at
Warwickshire's Jaguar Land Rover headquarters last year, said: "Charlotte is
the only person doing this and it's turned into a bit of a full-time job."

The duo have travelled as far as Scotland, Land's End and even Oslo, where
they handed out 513 cards in just 36 hours.

She has also received letters from the Royal Family recognising her work:
