[Evolution] Exchange LDAP Contacts and Calendar
Hi All, I have IMAP set up in Evolution to read mail from our exchange server. I have two questions: 1) I want to see the address list on the Exchange server. I followed the advice from the mailing list archive( http://lists.ximian.com/archives/public/evolution/2001-October/013873.html), but this does not seem to work. I can use ldapsearch and I get a list of address entries, but evolution does not show anything. My Cantact list settings are as follows: Advanced Tab: Port : 389 Search base : o=Dimension Data, c=US Search Scope: Sub. I have tried different settings in the Search base, but I cannot get anything to work. 2) Is it possible to connect to my calendar on the exchange server? When i set the IMAP to show all folders, it lists the Calendar and Contacts, but everything is displayed as mail messages. The problem is that my appointments needs to be visible on the calender on the exchange server, so that other people can see when I am busy. [Evolution] Loosing mail
I'm running what RedCarpet claims is the latest dev snapshot, and I regularly see a problem: I click on Send/Receive, my IMAP INBOX shows me (1) new mail, but there's no new mail shown in the view. [Evolution] One Specific Folder Not Being Updated On New Mail
I've got a problem with a single folder/filter combination. I have a folder that has mail filtered to it from a single source. When new mail arrives in that folder, that folder name doesn't get changed to bold in the folder list, nor is it's count updated. Unfortunately, I only get mail that is applicable once a week on Mondays at noon. The last two Tuesday mornings I've come in, started evolution, and it's shown the new messages in that folder so the problem has been occurring for at least two weeks. I just looked at the filter and it seems fine. I'll try to do some more testing to see if I can make it occur consistently. tjb ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution

Re: [Evolution] Evolution LDAP authentification
Evolution does do authentication based on DNs, but the current scheme doesn't rely on the user typing in the DN (which most users would rather not remember)... So, we query on the email address they supply and get the DN for the matching entry, and authenticate based on that. The same scheme that netscape uses (and I think OE, but I'm not completely sure...) OE actually uses the DN to find the matching entry for authentication. There have been enough complaints from people that don't want to (or can't) enable anonymous read access on their ldap servers and/or want to authenticate vs. entries that don't have email addresses though, that I'm thinking we'll need a way to allow the user to specify the raw DN if they need to. It would be helpful to have two modes of operation: the regular user mode where they type in their email address for authentication, and the advanced user mode which expects the raw DN. I have actually been able to configure my LDAP server with limited anonymous read access (only some of the fields in the authentication record are publicly readable). Of course this works only if there are just a handful of users that have authenticated access. Here is the relevant portion of my slapd.conf: # Allow access to the Manager record only to the Manager access to dn=cn=Manager,dc=chawathe,dc=com by self write by * none # Allow everyone to read enough fields of the authentication record(s) # to initiate the authentication process # Many email/LDAP clients perform authentication based on the value of the # mail entry in the authentication record. Hello, I just upgraded to rc2 and something seems to have gone wrong. This is what I see: evolution-shell-WARNING **: Could not start up component for OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent. evolution-shell-WARNING **: Cannot activate Evolution component -- OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent evolution-shell-WARNING **: Cannot activate Evolution component -- OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Addressbook_ShellComponent evolution-shell-WARNING **: e_folder_type_registry_get_icon_for_type() -- Unknown type `mail' evolution-shell-WARNING **: e_folder_type_registry_get_icon_for_type() -- Unknown type `contacts' evolution-shell-WARNING **: e_folder_type_registry_get_icon_for_type() -- Unknown type `vtrash' When evo comes up, the Inbox and Contacts icons in the shortcut bar are missing and the buttons obviously don't work. I tried removing evo and reinstalling but that didn't help. I tried moving my old evo directory out of the way but that didn't help either. Is there something I have to do differently for rc2 over earlier versions? Thanks, Jeff __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! I can't remember where I got it, but it installs with the tag 0.9.6cvs. At any rate, this one is broken with regards to compiling iconv support. The release 0.9.5 does seem to compile fine. I'm not sure about current pilot-link CVS because I haven't tried it yet. I ran into the exact same problem you had, and the only solution was to revert to 0.9.5. Yeah, same here. :) I couldn't find where I got the tarball, but it must have been from some CVS snapshot or something. I've reverted to 0.9.5, and like you said, it seems to have fixed the problem. RE: [Evolution] Could Not Create Composer Windows
Dan, The full message in the pop up is: Could not create composer windows. Unable to activate HTML editor component. The error from the activation system is: Nothing matched the requirements. As well, the source filtering problem I mentioned earlier is from a POP account. RE: [Evolution] Could Not Create Composer Windows
Could not create composer windows. Unable to activate HTML editor component. The error from the activation system is: Nothing matched the requirements. This means oafd doesn't see GNOME_GtkHTML_Editor.oaf in any of the directories it's looking in. If gtkhtml isn't installed in the same prefix as oaf, then you need to have its prefix as part of the GNOME_PATH environment variable (and you'll need to kill and restart oafd after setting that). -- Dan ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
Re: [Evolution] batch verifying sgned email sent from evolution
I didn't look too carefully, but it looks like the problem is that you're decoding the Content-Transfer-Encoding before passing it to gpg. Rather than using the python MIME-handling functions to get the signed message body, you want to just take everything between the first and second boundary lines (not including the CR/LF preceding the closing boundary line) and verify that. If it's still not working, you could replace your copy of gpg with a script that just writes the inputs out to temp files, and then compare what evolution is passing to it with what your python script passes to it. -- Dan ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
