Is there a way to attach a Vcard to all outgoing mail in Evolution as
there is with Outlook?
Thanks

i.e. I'm against such a 'feature', at least it should be 'off' as
default;

Nah, just couple it with an 'automatically delete all incoming mail with
a self-vCard attached' feature :)

in this case we could as well include an 'automatically delete all
incoming mail with top postings' feature;

Then I would like to request an 'automatically delete all mails related
to top versus bottom posting' feature! :D

Good point! While we're on that topic it would nice to be able to select
turning HTML/text-only on/off for different distribution lists. Same for
embedded images.

I've also needed to do this with digital signatures which would block my
mail messages when delivered to people at a certain company (because it
was an unrecognized potentially dangerous non-text attachment).

Which brings us back to vCards which could be potentially useful for
some people. But then they might not want to use them for instance when
sending to distribution lists. Sounds to me that it would be useful to
have a flexible framework that would enable certain features depending
on certain characteristics of the mail being sent.

[Evolution] Some features not working after move to amd64

2011-05-16 Thread Scott T. Hildreth
I recently got a new sever (64bit) and installed evolution and then
tared up my evolution files on my old i386 server and moved it to my
new sever. I wasn't sure if the sqlite db files would be okay, but
I ran the sqlite vacuum on them and removed all the ibex files before
starting up the new evolution. All my folders are there, but certain
features are not working. For one I don't see a spamd running, which I
always saw on my other servers (started by evolution). I don't know if
one is supposed to be running all the time or just started when needed.
I did notice that sometimes there would be more than one spamd running
and I needed to kill them. Also the mark messages read is not working
when I click on the message, I have to click the mail icon on the left
or right click for the menu and mark as read. Images are not being
loaded in the emails and if I go into preferences to change the behavior
the options for images are grayed out so I am not able to select any of
them. I suspect one of my configs or db files from the i386 server is
causing the issue. Can anyone deny or confirm this?

 Thanks,
 Scott

[Evolution] GPG signature position

2011-05-16 Thread Felipe Castillo
Hi everybody,

I'm a little annoyed at the position of the signature verification in
Evolution. I want to put it in the top, right below the header. Even
better if it can be partially hidden.
I know to make some changes like this might need to change the source
code, but is there a way to display the signature in the top by just
configuration files?
It doesn't have to be part of the header, like I suggested, just the
same way it is now, but on the top.
I work use GPG in my emails daily and the position gets annoying after
many emails having to scroll down. Thanks in advance to anybody with
ideas
