Re: [Evolution] [BUG] More and more messages not displayed in Google Mail IMAP account

a message from some years ago (call it MA) is selected. Selecting

that the message (luckily) does not seem to be deleted.

I cannot think of a reason for this behavior and have not experienced it
before. There was a message in the inbox having the date field set from
the future (November 2011) – let us call it MB – and I responded to that
one. This is just a stab into the dark and I do not know how to debug
it. In any case message MB is also not displayed anymore too. To
emphasize it again I did not delete these messages!

So somehow the message gets deleted (for the list(?)) and then Evolution
cannot select it when entering the inbox and selects MA.

Hi,
it sounds to me like either some kind of filter being applied to you
folder or some kind of a folder summary corruption. When you run
evolution from a console, does it claim anything when you enter the
folder? Is the Search-Clear menu item active when you are in the
GMail's Inbox? Anything else than All Messages being set in the Show
combo box above the message list? What if you let evolution fetch your
IMAP information for GMail from scratch, by moving away
   ~/.local/share/evolution/mail/imap/gmail-account
folder? I would rather move it away than deleting, just in case. Make
sure evolution will not be running when playing with its internal files.
Hope that helps,
Milan

[Evolution] displayed font color in dark theme

2011-10-17 Thread Michael Bach
Dear evolutionists,

I run evolution 3.2 under Arch Linux. I changed the gnome 3.2 Adwaita
theme for gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0 applications according to this thread:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=128299

Specifically, I added this line to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini:
gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme = true

Now back to my actual question: In evolution the mail listing and the
mail contents are in a black font which is very hard to read obviously.
I did not find any hints on how to change these font colors in the
evolution documentation. Since evolution is a key gnome app I expected
the theme change to be as smooth as with the other apps (rhythmbox,
nautilus etc.) where color inversion is done properly.

For illustration, see this screenshot:

Any tips or hints where to look for a solution?

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Michael Bach

I think you'll have to use gnome-appearance-properties and select
adwaita, which you've already done, then select customise, then change
the appropriate font/background colors. once you get it like you want
it, save it as adwaita_mine or whatever you want

the only other workaround I know of is to create a filter that matches
every incoming message and set the color in the filter.

Re: [Evolution] [Evolution-EWS] Can't send message

I've read on one thread (from May) that this error can be caused by
mail aliases, but my e-mail is real user name, I have domain account
mycompany\firstname.lastname and my mailbox firstname.lastname is
connected with it. I've tried to change in configuration (Reciving
Email tab - User Name field) from firstname.lastname at mycompany.pl
to just firstname.lastname or mycompany\firstname.lastname (without
changing URL fields) but without any success, I was still able to
receive e-mails, but can't send them.

I don't think it's that username which is the problem. If that were
wrong, I don't think you'd be able to log in and read your email at all.

The problem is that Exchange doesn't like the email address you have
configured the account with. It's a bit stupid like that. Is it possible
that there's some variant of firstname.lastn...@mycompany.pl which it
*does* accept? Perhaps a different username, or even a different
(internal?) domain name?
