Hi David,
thank you for that hints. They are for sure helpful, but for tech savvy

Apart from that, can you give similar workaround for EWS setup?

https://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/3.8/import-apps-outlook.html
should cover it, however you did not provide any version information.
Plus the Windows port of Evolution is so unmaintained that I personally
would not recommend using it.

Cheers,

It used to be simple enough even for regular users. But the setting has
now been hidden and you can't get at it in the GUI account setup any
more. You have to do it manually with dconf :(

 - they need separate proxy setting.
Apart from that, can you give similar workaround for EWS setup?

Use libproxy (or PacRunner and its reimplementation of libproxy,
ideally). Make sure that when you ask it what proxy do I use for this
URL, it gives you the correct answer for each of the servers you want
to talk to.

File bugs if Evolution is not honouring the libproxy answers correctly.

Did you shutdown Evo completely before making the changes?

Have you restarted Evo since making the changes?

What are the values of those keys after you have restarted Evo?

 /apps/evolution/mail/display/mark_seen_timeout 1500

So the values either didn't get set or are being re-written with the

Are you talking about reading the message via the preview pane, or opening
it in a separate window? The timeout settings only apply to the preview
pane.

[Evolution] Scroll wheel not work until text is selected

2013-09-02 Thread Jose Legido
Hi.

In the Message preview only works mouse scroll wheel over headers
and scroll bar, but not over the text message.
Searching information I found something similar:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=699574#c10

but my behavior is different. When I select some text in Message
preview, mouse wheel starts work.
If I close evolution, I have to select some text again.

Is the same bug?
should I open another bug?

On a general note: 3.4 is not maintained anymore in GNOME upstream. If
you would like to report, feel free to in http://www.debian.org/Bugs/
instead of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/ . Thanks.

[Evolution] corrupt message list

2013-09-02 Thread Ross Boylan
My message list has become corrupt with lots of missing messages, as
well as missing message status (i.e., all messages became unread).
This happened while I had evolution open, after I had been using it
successfully for weeks.

My efforts to fix the problem by restarting evo or deleting various
index files have not worked. I filed a bug
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=707235), but my version of
evolution is too old (3.4.4). This is with a remote IMAP mailbox, one
with subfolders. It's the top level that's giving me problems.

Since this is the current version in Debian it is awkward for me to
upgrade. I'm hoping someone here can advise me at least what I need
to do to purge my current setup.

I've tried increasingly extensive deletions, based on a web search,
but they haven't helped.

Here are some more details that might be helpful:

ross@tempserver:~/.local/share/evolution/mail/13755x.1xxx1.24@tempserver$
ls -l
total 1120
-rw-r--r-- 1 ross ross 1129472 Sep 1 14:45 folders.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 ross ross 13 Sep 1 14:45 INBOX.cmeta
-rw--- 1 ross ross1024 Sep 1 09:21 INBOX.ibex.index
-rw--- 1 ross ross 8 Sep 1 14:45 INBOX.ibex.index.data
First I deleted everything but folders.db. This does cause some stuff to be
regenerated, but
it was still corrupt.

I shutdown again and deleted folders.db as well as
~/.cache/evolution/mail/13755.1xxx1.21@tempserver/folders.db

That produced a much more extensive download, but the result was still
corrupt.

The remote mailbox has about 19,000 messages.

To figure out what files evolution was using I tried lsof on the evo
process (though maybe there are auxiliary ones?). Here are some
highlights:
