[Evolution] Replying to email inserting previous reply

2016-09-20 Thread Greg Oliver
Hi, I am using (Fedora versions)

evolution-data-server-3.20.5-3.fc24.x86_64
evolution-ews-3.20.5-1.fc24.x86_64
evolution-3.20.5-1.fc24.x86_64

Something I have never encountered with evolution throughout the past 10+
years of using it is happening to me. When replying to an email, Evolution
is putting the previous email reply (same thread email) into the composing
window on top. Now the only thing I can determine that is a tad different
from other emails is that due to excessive signatures from this company,
Exchange is 100% encoding the message base64. Not sure what to make of
this, so just wondering if anyone has seen it and if they know how to stop
it.

I have enabled CAMEL_DEBUG and restarted evolution, but none of the output
stands out to me as far as throwing a previous reply into the message body
(also, it is a reply not even found in the original message I am replying
to. Itr is very bizarre behavior.

TIA!

Thanks

-Greg

Not a direct answer to your question, but the Vertex theme is one of the
few that I have found that keeps up with changes in gtk3. I started
running it with Evo since when gtk3 broke theming a while back (around
gtk3.18 as I recall) with no problems. It's quite elegant in both light
and dark themes. Try it if available in your distro:

I switched theme back and fourth and now I can see for other themes the
background changes (to blue or red) so this seems to be a theme issue,
problem is what to look for in the theme?
What sub theme does Evo use for error/warning mgs?

I can se the same issue when I open a calendar entry created by
another person, then evo. says
"Event cannot be fully edited, because you are not the organiser"

I am on MATE with their TraditionalOk theme,
Adwaita is there but broken somehow(never worked).
I can switch to TraditionalGreen, but I doubt that will make a difference.

Hi,

what desktop theme do you use? Consider to chose another theme, e.g.
Adwaita.

[Evolution] White text on light grey

When error msgs pops up such as:
Sender wants to be notified when you have read this message.
They are often displayed with white text on light grey for me making it
hard to read the message. Is this a bug or can I change this colour somewhere?

[Evolution] Error to connect to a calendar

2016-09-20 Thread Sylvia Sánchez
Hello everyone!

I'm using Fedora 24 Workstation and Evolution as calendar/email. It's been
already some two months doing so but now one of my calendars returns a
connection error.
Specifically it says: "HTTP error : Unauthorised "
Any ideas about what it means and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
check the traceroute to the Google's SMTP server, which you can see in
the account Properties. Mine shows smtp.gmail.com:465 with TLS on a
dedicated port. You can try to change it to smtp.googlemail.com (or
vice versa), whether it'll make any difference. Also try to run
evolution with SMTP debugging on, where you'll see the communication
between the server and the client, though the error itself suggests
that the communication didn't get anywhere far. The command is:
   $ CAMEL_DEBUG=smtp evolution
There is used gnutls in the background, by glib-networking, thus you
might be able to reproduce the same using the gnutls command line
tools. I do not use that much, thus this can be wrong in some parts,
though it worked here like this:
   $ gnutls-cli smtp.gmail.com --port 465

   220 smtp.gmail.com ESMTP xx - gsmtp

   HELO localhost
250 smtp.gmail.com at your service   QUIT
   221 2.0.0 closing connection xx - gsmtp
after which the gnutls-cli claimed:
*** Fatal error: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
*** Server has terminated the connection abnormally.
which is not your case, because you do not get that far.
Bye,
Milan
