Could you explain "can't use". Any errors?

It's difficult to say if it's a known issue if you don't explain what
the issue is! But is it what is described in

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2021-November/msg00155.html

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2022-January/msg00109.html

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2022-January/msg00117.html

amongst others.

[Evolution] Trouble with gnome evolution

2022-10-17 Thread Philippe Lefèvre

Hi all,

I just started using Gnome Evolution 3.38.3-1 on Debian 11 to replace my
thunderbird installation.
Everything works well so far but I can't use my Contacts book (and only
this) located at Google.

I tried what is explained at :
https://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/stable/contacts-google.html.en
with no success but I was recently told that this page is outdated for
quite a long time.

Is this a known issue I could resolve on my side? Do I use a bad config
parameter?

Thanks for any help, advise...
Regards,
Philippe

Hm... I tried gtk3-nocsd (not on Evolution though, as my version does not
use CSD, but on other apps), and the only thing it does is to move the CSDs
from the title bar to an additional bar below the title bar. The CSDs itself
however stay as they are. I wouldn't call this "getting rid" of them...

Hi,
there are still legitimate use-cases for Reply-To-All within the
mailing lists. I sometimes post a message to mailing lists where I'm
not subscribed to, and either I state so explicitly and they include me
in the CC, or the list nature is expected to receive mails from non-
subscribers and the members do Reply-To-All always (one such example is
when I ask for a freeze break exception).

You can say those are just special cases, whose is much less than those
"annoying semi-private replies", but I won't make the life harder to
others just to make it simpler for me.

There's no win-win solution here, I'm afraid.

For the Reply-To-All turning into Reply-To-List, the "Group Reply"
button does the right thing, +/- a setting in the Composer Preferences,
where the user can influence what is preferred with the Group Reply.

Bye,
Milan
