Frequency of the preview window not rendering until moused over is down significantly, but not gone completely. Only one message on the console: (evolution.bin:44): camel-imapx-provider-WARNING **: 12:12:35.199: camel_imapx_server_process_command_sync: [D] 0x55c25a6a2390: Starting command 0x7fc3f007aaa0 (NOOP) while still processing 0x55c258a37400 (NOOP) which reads like a transient issue talking place with one of the IMAP servers. I've seen more than one fail to render instance, which makes me think this is a red herring. ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Hi, yes, it does use WebKitGTK, both in the preview and in the editor, regardless of the message content format. For what it's worth, I've an up to date Fedora Rawhide virtual machine on which I just noticed something similar in a text editor (SciTE, in this case). It sometimes fails to update itself, or updates only partially the window content, thus the viewed text is mixed with the previously seen part. Maybe the problem is even lower in the stack, not in the WebKitGTK. I get mail both ways..written as flat ascii (lots of contacts still using pine & mutt ) and as HTML ( no thanks to Office365 ). ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Unrelated to the OP's question, and I have no issues to report, but this prompted a question. On Mon, 2021-04-12 at 17:00 +0200, Milan Crha via evolution-list wrote: > the preview panel is WebKitGTK. Hi, the preview panel is WebKitGTK. Evolution itself doesn't render anything there. It can be the latest WebKitGTK did something odd, possibly in combination with your graphics drivers. Can you try to run Evolution as: $ WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 flatpak run org.gnome.Evolution just make sure there is no evolution process running from the /app prefix (by running: ps ax | grep evolution), please? I do not know whether it'll have any impact. [Evolution] Weird delay in preview..
Evolution 3.40.1 (flatpak git668023c) System: Kernel: 5.4.0-70-generic x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: MATE 1.22.2 Distro: Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia recently did the update and started seeing that frequently the preview pane does not render until mouse is in the preview pane. So if I'm click on specific messages in the message list, the preview pain stays blank until I move the mouse over it. Conversely, if I select a message in the list pane, move mouse to the preview pane and then arrow key for the next message, it renders immediately. So it is definitely something with the position of the mouse relative to the preview pane. System is basically idle, plenty of memory available (not stepping off memory to swap space), plenty of available bandwidth ( as of the beginning of this message is was getting 870Mbps from the Google servers, 750Mbps from Office365). In Evolution, I'm currently running 2 - Gmail, 3 - G-Suite, and 1 - Office 365 accounts. Any thoughts on how best to isolate?
