The data in Row 1 needs to go in row 1, column 1
Row 2 needs to go in row 1, column 2
 Row 3 = Row 1, Col 3
 Row 4 = Row 2, Col 1
 Row 5 = Row 2, Col 2
 Row 6 = Row 2 Col 3
Row 7 = Row 3, Col 1, etc to the end of the file.

What would be the macro that I need to use? I have been tasked with
loading this data into a program but am unsure how to get it into the
 correct format.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 Hi

On attached   workbook there is a sheet tha has multiple lists with empty
rows in between.  No of empty rows can vary.

What I am trying to do is sort each list on the list into say into col F
ascending order.  Once the first list sorted vba takes it onto the next
list, until all lists have been sorted.  The empty rows still remain.

Each list is always started with a heading row which with a ' HD' ref in the
same row D.  Is this the best reference for finding each list.

 In plain English

go to first entry of    HD

xldown to last entry in that list

 data sort by col F

 Your help would be appreciated.

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Pivot Table Percent of Column...

2011-08-26 Thread Frederic LE GUEN - MVP Excel
I have solve your worksheet but you must changed the presentation of
your data.
You must present your data like this
Invoice#YearCat Dollar
123456 2006Cat15
234567 2006Cat15
345678 2006Cat15
123456 2006Cat24
234567 2006Cat24
345678 2006Cat24
123456 2006Cat33
234567 2006Cat33
345678 2006Cat33
987654 2007Cat13
876543 2007Cat13
765432 2007Cat13
987654 2007Cat24
876543 2007Cat24
765432 2007Cat24
987654 2007Cat35
876543 2007Cat35
765432 2007Cat35

And then, you put the Year in column, the Cat in Row and Dollar in the
field Sum in your pivot table
And you finish by changing the value setting of the Dollar item and
you select % of Row total in the tab 'Show values as'

 each year in my data.

 For instance, if I have:

 Invoice#        Year        Cat1        Cat2        Cat3
 123456         2006        $5.00       $4.00       $3.00
 234567         2006        $5.00       $4.00       $3.00

 765432         2007        $3.00       $4.00       $5.00

I need a pivot table that will sum all values for each category by
year, then tell me what percent of that year's sales belonged to that
category.  I can get a pivot table to show each category by year with
 total sales like this:

 Values        2006       2007
 Cat1           $15.00     $9.00
 Cat2           $12.00     $12.00
 Cat3           $9.00       $15.00

BUT, I really need the percent of each category for that column.  For
instance, 2006 and 2007 both have $36.00 total sales.  So I would want
to know what percent of that $36.00 was for Cat1, Cat2, and Cat3.
 Something like this:

 Values        2006        2007
 Cat1           42%         25%
 Cat2           33%         33%
 Cat3           25%         42%

Does anybody have any recommendations?  I have tried Show Value As
Percent of Column, but it always shows 100%.  If I Show Value As
Percent of Row, it shows what percentage of the total sales of Cat1
was sold for each year.  i.e. - Cat1 would show 62% for 2006 and 38%
for 2007.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!  Thank you!

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Fill empty cells with zero

2011-08-26 Thread Abhishek Jain
Enter the number 1 in an unused cell and copy that cell to the clipboard.
Highlight the range of cells in which you want blanks replaced by zeros (Go
to Blank Cells). Choose *Edit *| *Paste Special *from the menu. In the *
Operation *section of the resulting dialog box, select the *Multiply *option
and click on *OK.*You have just multiplied every cell in the range by 1.
Numeric cells won't change. Cells containing text data will be ignored. But
any cell that was blank will now contain a zero. You could, of course,
accomplish the same thing by copying a cell containing 0 to the clipboard
and using *Add *rather than *Multiply *in the *Paste Special *dialog.

Cheers,

AJ

RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ Fill empty cells with zero

2011-08-26 Thread Rajan_Verma
Press CTRL+G Goto Special Choose Blanks ,

It will select all Blank cell then Press 0 and Ctrl + Enter

Subject: Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Fill empty cells with zero

Enter the number 1 in an unused cell and copy that cell to the clipboard.
Highlight the range of cells in which you want blanks replaced by zeros (Go
to Blank Cells). Choose Edit | Paste Special from the menu. In the
Operation section of the resulting dialog box, select the Multiply option
and click on OK.You have just multiplied every cell in the range by 1.
Numeric cells won't change. Cells containing text data will be ignored. But
any cell that was blank will now contain a zero. You could, of course,
accomplish the same thing by copying a cell containing 0 to the clipboard
and using Add rather than Multiply in the Paste Special dialog.

Cheers,

Objet : $$Excel-Macros$$ Pivot Table Percent of Column...

Thanks in advance experts!!! This is very complicated to explain, but I'll
 give it a go:

 I have data (Invoice#, Invoice Year, Cat1 Sales, Cat2 Sales, Cat3 Sales),
and need to find the percent of sales for each category, for each year in
 my
 data.

 For instance, if I have:

 Invoice#YearCat1Cat2Cat3
 123456 2006$5.00 $4.00 $3.00
 234567 2006$5.00 $4.00 $3.00
 345678 2006$5.00 $4.00 $3.00
 987654 2007$3.00 $4.00 $5.00
 876543 2007$3.00 $4.00 $5.00
 765432 2007$3.00 $4.00 $5.00

I need a pivot table that will sum all values for each category by year,
then tell me what percent of that year's sales belonged to that category.
  I
can get a pivot table to show each category by year with total sales like
 this:

 Values2006 2007
 Cat1 $15.00 $9.00
 Cat2 $12.00 $12.00
 Cat3 $9.00 $15.00

BUT, I really need the percent of each category for that column. For
instance, 2006 and 2007 both have $36.00 total sales. So I would want to
know what percent of that $36.00 was for Cat1, Cat2, and Cat3.
 Something like this:

 Values20062007
 Cat1 42% 25%
 Cat2 33% 33%
 Cat3 25% 42%

Does anybody have any recommendations? I have tried Show Value As Percent
of Column, but it always shows 100%. If I Show Value As Percent of Row, it
shows what percentage of the total sales of Cat1 was sold for each year.
 i.e. - Cat1 would show 62% for 2006 and 38% for 2007. Any help would be
 GREATLY appreciated!!! Thank you!

Try this to sort list in Array Function :

Option Base 1

Function SortedList(rng As Range) As Variant

Dim arr() As Variant

Dim rw, cl As Double

r = rng.Rows.Count

cl = 1

ReDim arr(r, cl)

arr = rng

For i = 1 To r

For j = 1 To r - i

If arr(j, 1) arr(j + 1, 1) Then

temp = arr(j, 1)

arr(j, 1) = arr(j + 1, 1)

arr(j + 1, 1) = temp

End If

Next

Next

SortedList = arr

End Function

Should do it assuming layout as described

To: MS EXCEL AND VBA MACROS
Subject: $$Excel-Macros$$ Cut Data from Rows and Paste into Columns

I have a series of spreadsheets that have data in them that needs to
be formatted into 3 columns instead of one column.

The data in Row 1 needs to go in row 1, column 1
Row 2 needs to go in row 1, column 2
Row 3 = Row 1, Col 3
Row 4 = Row 2, Col 1
Row 5 = Row 2, Col 2
Row 6 = Row 2 Col 3
Row 7 = Row 3, Col 1, etc to the end of the file.

What would be the macro that I need to use? I have been tasked with
loading this data into a program but am unsure how to get it into the
correct format.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Cut Data from Rows and Paste into Columns

2011-08-26 Thread GreenBriar
Transpose would not work because every 4th record (or row) would need to go
back to the first column, next row.

original data could be in either an excel spreadsheet or a text file,
whichever works best.

thus

1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9

would look like

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

Please use proper definitions

Hi Guys,

I need an urgent help . Attached is the excel file for your reference.

Issue : I want the result in the F coulmn of Sheet1. the Sku #from
Coulmn B of Sheet 1 will be searched in A column of sheet2. If the SKU
was found then it will check the Currency and Margin (B C column of
Sheet 1) with Currency and Price Level ( B C column of Sheet2). If
it matches then , it will take the respective value from column G of
sheet 2 and will pop in column F of sheet1.

Anyhelp will be highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Pivot Table Percent of Column...

2011-08-26 Thread Robert Jacobs
Thanks to everybody for their suggestions.

Fred - I couldn't layout my data the way you suggested, just due to
the sheer number of rows it would have created. The data I provided
was a joke compared to what is actually listed, and the number of
categories is much, much more than the 3 I gave in my example. But I
did keep your example in my resources for 'just in case' future
spreadsheets.

Daniel - I had found that page a while ago. As I mentioned in my
post, it wasn't calculating the percent of the column that I wanted -
it always gave me 100%. Thanks for the reply though.

Viper - It took me a little digging (because your sample was EXACTLY
what I needed) before I figured out how you accomplished what you
accomplished. I did, however, figure it out, and it your methods work
perfectly for what I needed. 5000 points to you, and thank you very
much for your help.

All of your suggestions are appreciated. Thank you for serving us
little guys. You're awesome!

  Invoice#        Year        Cat1        Cat2        Cat3
  123456         2006        $5.00       $4.00       $3.00
  234567         2006        $5.00       $4.00       $3.00
  345678         2006        $5.00       $4.00       $3.00
  987654         2007        $3.00       $4.00       $5.00
  876543         2007        $3.00       $4.00       $5.00
  765432         2007        $3.00       $4.00       $5.00

I need a pivot table that will sum all values for each category by year,
then tell me what percent of that year's sales belonged to that category.
   I
can get a pivot table to show each category by year with total sales like
  this:

  Values        2006       2007
  Cat1           $15.00     $9.00
  Cat2           $12.00     $12.00
  Cat3           $9.00       $15.00

BUT, I really need the percent of each category for that column.  For
instance, 2006 and 2007 both have $36.00 total sales.  So I would want to
know what percent of that $36.00 was for Cat1, Cat2, and Cat3.
  Something like this:

  Values        2006        2007
  Cat1           42%         25%
  Cat2           33%         33%
  Cat3           25%         42%

Does anybody have any recommendations?  I have tried Show Value As Percent
of Column, but it always shows 100%.  If I Show Value As Percent of Row, it
shows what percentage of the total sales of Cat1 was sold for each year.
  i.e. - Cat1 would show 62% for 2006 and 38% for 2007.  Any help would be
  GREATLY appreciated!!!  Thank you!

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Pivot Table Percent of Column...

2011-08-26 Thread XLS S
try formula please find attachment...

On Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 8:04 PM, Robert Jacobs robertjacob...@gmail.comwrote:

Thanks in advance experts!!! This is very complicated to explain, but
 I'll give it a go:

 I have data (Invoice#, Invoice Year, Cat1 Sales, Cat2 Sales, Cat3
Sales), and need to find the percent of sales for each category, for
 each year in my data.

 For instance, if I have:

 Invoice#YearCat1Cat2Cat3
 123456 2006$5.00 $4.00 $3.00
 234567 2006$5.00 $4.00 $3.00
 345678 2006$5.00 $4.00 $3.00
 987654 2007$3.00 $4.00 $5.00
 876543 2007$3.00 $4.00 $5.00
 765432 2007$3.00 $4.00 $5.00

I need a pivot table that will sum all values for each category by
year, then tell me what percent of that year's sales belonged to that
category. I can get a pivot table to show each category by year with
 total sales like this:

 Values2006 2007
 Cat1 $15.00 $9.00
 Cat2 $12.00 $12.00
 Cat3 $9.00 $15.00

BUT, I really need the percent of each category for that column. For
instance, 2006 and 2007 both have $36.00 total sales. So I would want
to know what percent of that $36.00 was for Cat1, Cat2, and Cat3.
 Something like this:

 Values20062007
 Cat1 42% 25%
 Cat2 33% 33%
 Cat3 25% 42%

Does anybody have any recommendations? I have tried Show Value As
Percent of Column, but it always shows 100%. If I Show Value As
Percent of Row, it shows what percentage of the total sales of Cat1
was sold for each year. i.e. - Cat1 would show 62% for 2006 and 38%
for 2007. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thank you!

RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Cut Data from Rows and Paste into Columns

Try this

Option Base 1

Sub DoSomething()

Dim SrcRng As Range

Dim OptRng As Range

Dim arr() As Variant

Dim r As Integer

Dim c As Integer

Dim k As Integer

Set SrcRng = Application.InputBox(Please Select the Source Range, , ,
, , , , 8)

Set OptRng = Application.InputBox(Please Select the OutPut Cell, , , ,
, , , 8)

r = (SrcRng.Rows.Count / 3) + 1

c = 3

ReDim arr(r, c)

k = 1

For i = 1 To r

For j = 1 To c

arr(i, j) = SrcRng.Cells(k, 1).Value

k = k + 1

Next

Next

OptRng.Resize(r, c).Select

Selection.Value = arr

End Sub

Transpose would not work because every 4th record (or row) would need to go
back to the first column, next row.

original data could be in either an excel spreadsheet or a text file,
whichever works best.

thus

1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9

would look like

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
