Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Large Model Question

 Hello!

I have a few excel model files of the following sizes - 200 megabytes, 320
megabytes and 650 megabytes. I have 4 sets of data to be calculated by
these models and combined in a single file. They can be either recalculated
4 times for each of the data sets - their results stored in a single file
and then combined in a report after the final calculation. Or - I am
thinking of buying more ram for my excel 64 and open up 4 instances of the
aforementioned model files for each of the data set - so that all can be
calculated at once. I calculated the total size of the models in memory
would be 1600 megabytes - in the last case 6500 megabytes. I have Xeon
e5-1650 - not sure if the last setup would work better - please let me
know. It would allow to bypass the intervening stage of storing the
separate results and combining them afterwards.

Will be happy to hear what you think!

Are you writing VBA code and want to find out how many sheets are in a

The Sheets() collection is an array of sheets.
The index of the Sheets() collection is the specific sheet of the
 Sheets array.
If the second sheet of the workbook is currently active, that would be
 Sheets(2)
So, when you say get the index of sheets, do you mean you want to know
what is the index number in the Sheets collection for the currently active
 sheet?

Or are you not using VBA at all and need something else entirely?

 Please elaborate on your requirement.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Index of sheets

2013-01-09 Thread Hari
Thanks for your help. I got the answer for the same through below mail
which i was looking for.

Thanks,
Harish

On 9 January 2013 17:59, Paul Schreiner schreiner_p...@att.net wrote:

What is it that you're looking for?
Are you writing VBA code and want to find out how many sheets are in a
 workbook?
Are you trying to use the Sheets() collection to get something to do with
 the sheets?

The Sheets() collection is an array of sheets.
The index of the Sheets() collection is the specific sheet of the Sheets
 array.

Subject: $$Excel-Macros$$ Auto Calculate Number to Percent
To: MS EXCEL AND VBA MACROS excel-macros@googlegroups.com

Hi,

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to auto calculate number
entered into a column to total percent. Example

Column A contains 'Date'
Column B contains 'User'
Column C contains 'Hours worked'

Based on the value in column B User 'XYZ' I should be able to convert
hours worked into total percent

Date | User | Hours Worked
7/16 | ABC | 8

This should self calculate and return on save
7/16 | ABC | 100%

Example 2

Date | User | Hours Worked
7/16 | ABC | 8
7/16 | ABC | 8
7/16 | XYZ | 12
7/17 | ABC | 8

This should self calculate and return on save
7/16 | ABC | 33.3%
7/16 | ABC | 33.3%
7/16 | XYZ | 100%
7/17 | ABC | 33.3%

At the end the total should equal 100% by User

I had not known you can add wild cards to vlookups. That is really
cool. One note of caution is that I got false positives when entering
the name George. The method stated above will display results upon
the first match, which in this case was George, Bush and not
George as in Jefferson. This was also true when entering B, J,
H, or K which are all partial matches. So I built upon the
vlookup with wild cards and added the ISERROR function combined with
an IF statement. This function will use the exact match first before
using the wild card vlookup.

[Cell D5]
=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(D2,data!$B:$D,3,0)),VLOOKUP(*D2*,data!$B:$D,
3,0),VLOOKUP(D2,data!$B:$D,3,0))

Cheers,

kgrabbs

Dear Hari, Attached zip file contains tow example files for your problem.
Unzip both files in same folder and then open Power Point file and run macro
xlchartpastespecial macro. The macro will copy all charts from excel file to
power point. You may record a macro to change chart position in the slide.
Or you can modify below code to change the position of the chart:

ActiveWindow.Selection.SlideRange.Shapes(Picture 1).Select
With ActiveWindow.Selection.ShapeRange
.IncrementLeft 308.25
.IncrementTop 180.75
End With

Hi Santosh,
it's not possible under my view.
however you can do this

create reminders based on dates in a excel workbook. there is an excel
workbook with dates to follow up various assignements. when i open
outlook...the macro should should open the excel file run through the dates
and add reminders for that particular assignment

example
excel workbook will contain
type descirption complete_by
client insurance card 15feb08

Function AddOutLookTask()
Dim appOutLook As Outlook.Application
Dim taskOutLook As Outlook.TaskItem
Set appOutLook = CreateObject(Outlook.Application)
Set taskOutLook = appOutLook.CreateItem(olTaskItem)
With taskOutLook
.Subject = This is the subject of my task
.Body = This is the body of my task.
.ReminderSet = True
.ReminderTime = DateAdd(n, 2, Now) ' Set to remind us 2
' minutes from now.
.DueDate = DateAdd(n, 5, Now) ' Set the due date to
' 5 minutes from now.
.ReminderPlaySound = True
'add the path to a .wav file on your computer.
.ReminderSoundFile = C:\Win95\media\ding.wav
.Save
End With
End Function

of computer each individual in column A is using. I'm looking for a
formula or series of formulas that will tell me how many PC's,
laptops's and CAD's are being used but only counting one per name once
 (hope that makes sense).

I will explain my problem with an example.

30/01/2009 13:30 is the time.I want to add 36 hrs to it.

But I should add it only during the working hours.(8:30 hours per hour
a day(exclude week ends and holidays)).

Assume working time to be from 08:00 to 16:30

So the time after 36hrs added would be 05/02/2009 16:00.

I can add only the date through workday function, which also excludes
holidays and weekends. But I am not able to add the exact time.

Can YOU help me to get it done through macros??

 Thanks in Advance
