Dear Experts

In the userform of the attached workbook contains Date of Joining text box
and Date of Retirement textbox. The difference of both the values should
come to
23 yrs 01 mth 29 days but it is showing as 23 yrs 01 mth 01 day

In my office procedure resultant date should be given 1 bonus day with
this, the result should be 23 yrs 01 mnth 30 days
In general, as per my office rules 30 days will be considered as 1 month
for calculation of salary

Final result should come like 23 yrs 02 mths 00 days

Pls rectify the problem.

what I want is, at the opening of the datasheet it should have hidden data
options and as per the tick marked checkbox data they have to be unhidden

$$Excel-Macros$$ rounding off problem

2012-02-29 Thread Shankar Bheema
Dear Experts

The above attached file contains an userform for rounding off of the value

if the 3% of the given value comes to more than multiple of 10 except the
fraction that value should be rounded off to the nearest multiple of 10

ex. if the value of 3% comes to 660.01 or 660.50 or 660.99 the answer
should be 660 only

if the value of 3% comes to more than the round figure like 661 then it
should be rounded off to 670.

pls provide me the solution.

eg. if txtdor.text is 30-04-2041 then txtavgfrom1 of userform2 should carry

If the dateavgfrom1 of userform2 not starts with the 1st then the days
combo should active and produce the difference of days between the dates or
else the months combo should active and produce the difference of months.

 Hello Shankar,

You can use Format() in VBA.

 txttotser.Text = Format(txttotyrs.Value, 00)  Format(txttotmths.Value,

 ** **

To use Application.Worksheetfunction.Text, it would go like:

 txttotser.Text = Application.WorksheetFunction.Text(txttotyrs.Value, 00)
  Application.WorksheetFunction.Text(txttotmths.Value, 00)
 Application.WorksheetFunction.Text(txttotdays.Value, 00)

 ** **

Also your calculator form left the year textbox blank when using the test
dates you suggested. There should be a number in that box for the above
formula to generate zeroes for the year. If you want to pad a string with
zeroes no matter if it's empty, a number, or something else; you could,
 like this:

 txttotser.Text = Right(00  txttotyrs.Value, 2)

 etc.

 ** **

One more thing - I didn't study how you are calculating your date
difference, but VBA has a function called DateDiff for that purpose. Check
 VBA Help for more info.

 Hello Shankar,

If you mean a SetFocus method, form and ActiveX controls have that in
 Excel.

If you mean a GotFocus event, ActiveX controls have that and you can use
 them in Excel.

In VB there is a facility of SET FOCUS event whereas in Excel VBA it is
not provided. Is there any alternative for it in excel vba ?

I divided the application form in two sheets for the convenience of the

You have to create a recordset by using the OpenRecordSet command in the

 Use

 Private Sub cmdsave_Click()

 rst.AddNew 'Add the Payment record
 rst.Fields(0).Value = txtfileno 'Payment ID
 rst.Fields(1).Value = txtempname 'W.O. #

Also, your first column has a data type of Number. However, the
txtfileno variable contains a string / text value. That will have to be
corrected also. I have fixed this in the attached database.

 rst.Fields(0).Value = txtfileno 'Payment ID
 rst.Fields(1).Value = txtempname 'W.O. #

Also, your first column has a data type of Number. However, the txtfileno
variable contains a string / text value. That will have to be corrected
also. I have fixed this in the attached database.

$$Excel-Macros$$ date difference

2011-09-12 Thread Shankar Bheema
Hai all,

I am attaching an excel userform which contains Dateof Birth textbox and
Date of Retirement textbox.

Conditions are:

i) Date of Retirement should be 60 years after Date of Birth
eg. if date of birth is in the year 1960 date of retirement would be 2020

ii) Date of retirement would be last day of the month

if date of birth is on 28-04-1981 then date of retirement would in the last
day of the April month i.e. 30-04-2041

iii) if the date of retirement falls in the month of February and if it is a
leap year then the retirement date would be 29th feb.

iv) If date of birth fells on 1st of the month the retirement date would be
the last day of the last month
eg. if Dob is 01-01-2012 then the date of retirement would be 31-12-2011.

I have written code for that but its not throwing errors. if there is any
simplest way may kindly be suggest.
