$$Excel-Macros$$ SUMPRODUCT: #VALUE ERROR

2014-01-14 Thread MLT
I'm looking for some help with one of the components of a SUMPRODUCT
formula that is causing the formula to error:

Starting in A1:

alpha137
beta224
gamma492

in A4: 49
in A5: 2

The idea is for one of the components of the SUMPRODUCT formula to look for
a string (in A4) in each cell in the range (A1:A3) and return the number
character that follows the string to see if it's equal to a certain value
(A5).

The problem is that since "49" does not necessarily appear in all cells, it
creates an error for all those, causing the entire formula to error.

Any suggestions?

=SUMPRODUCT((MID(A4,FIND("49",$A$1:$A$3)+2,1)=A5)*()*...*()

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Sumproduct help

2013-07-02 Thread De Premor

Try using SUM with CSE

=SUM((C2:C11>C3)+((C2:C11>C3)*(B2:B11="A")))

Or SUMPRODUCT
=SUMPRODUCT((C2:C11>C3)+((C2:C11>C3)*(B2:B11="A")))

Require output value 4625000 your formula is not working.

It's working fine. =SUMPRODUCT((A7:A24>=E1)*(A7:A24<=F1)*(F7:F24))

Hi,

Assume the sheet name always be in dd-mmm-yy format. I have define a name
CurrPeriod, you need to define it on your file. Just change Start & End
Date reference in this formula. I also change some Locations for SALES in
multiple sheets to make sure it works :-)

See the attached.

I have got an excel file getting sales volume of different customers in
buying different services on a daily basis. I want to use sumproduct
formula to get the sales volume buying services on a monthly basis.
However, the desired results are not found. Please help.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ sumproduct and pivot table on same data ranges - different results - (part 2)

2011-07-15 Thread bpascal123
thanks Mahesh,

btw, I guess it would be better to use getpivotdata function instead
of a sumproduct function that requires the entire excel application to
update data if any modification to the data or the function is made...
thanks again

$$Excel-Macros$$ sumproduct and pivot table on same data ranges - different results - any reasons

2011-07-14 Thread bpascal123
Hi,

Why is sumproduct returning a value greater thant a pivot table on the
same data range ? Is it about the number of rows (over 30,000)?

I'd like to be more specific but maybe I can post the file in this
group, if someone can tell me how.

Regards,
Thanks

$$Excel-Macros$$ Sumproduct Query ********** Ashish Koul

2011-01-19 Thread hanumant shinde
Hi Ashish koul,

I have seen many of your replies and it mostly contains Sumproduct formula. i
checked this formula in Microsoft Help (MS Help) and it seems very easy thing.
but what you use in your answer is very much different than what is given in
the
MS help.
could u please explain why and what is this different.

i am giving both formulas.
MS Help:-
=SUMPRODUCT(A2:B4, C2:D4)
in the above formula A col is multiplied with C col and B col is multiplied
with
D col and their products get added

Your Formula:-
=SUMPRODUCT(($G$4:$I$10=C4)*ROW($G$4:$I$10))

if i type =ROW($G$4:$I$10) i get 4 wherever i paste this formula.

you always use this * sign whereas this is not given in the MS help.
could you please explain your formula in plain English.

please please please explain your logic i have spend lot of time on this but
really couldn't get anything :(

Thanks in advance.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Sumproduct with 3 criteria +

2010-08-05 Thread Nadine S
Hi Dave,

Thanks for responding.  No, I haven't gotten an answer so thank you, thank you,
thank you for helping me.

Sheet 1 contains the details and Sheet 2 is the summary.  So, Sheet 1 B, C, D
has information that may show the same on multiple lines due to different
information in the others cells on the rows.  So what you find in B, C, D on
row
2 might be found on row 3 or 15 or 700 etc.  Now sheet 2 columns F, G, H have
only one listing of the unique combination in Shee 1 B, C, D.  Make sense so
far?

Now Sheet 1 col X and AH contain data.  But I need to combine all this data on
my summary page Sheet 2.  So, sheet 2 col R needs to sum the data in sheet 1
col
X if the info in sheet 1 col AH matches sheet 2 col R cell 1, 2, or 4.

Let me put some sample data in the sheet to show what I need as the solution in
sheet 2 cell R6.

Thank you so much.

Nadine

Hi Nadine,
Sorry I haven't got back to you on this. And I don't even know if it has been
answered by someone else. If you still need an answer, then I need to know what
you want summed in Col X.
If everything matches up as you have described, then the cell fom Col X is just
one cell, which I don't see how you can sum. Sorry I'm not understanding.
Regards - Dave.

Let me try this again.

Sheet 1 has info in B, C and D that needs to match info Sheet 2 column F, G,
and
H.  If those all match then I need to check if column AH in Sheet 1 matches
either R2, R1 or R4 in Sheet 2.  If so, then I need to sum column X in Sheet
1.
The result needs to show on Sheet 2 in colum R and all the rows beneath where
there is data.  did that make more sense?  I'll create a little sample and
attach it since I don't have the original on this computer.

Thanks so much.

Hi Nadine,
I'm guessing a bit.

"What I need is a total of the result of that"
I assume this means the result of your SumProduct formula

"plus the same if it = $R$2 and if it = $R$1"
I assume that if the result of the SumProduct formula = R2 AND = R3, then you
want the result of the SumProduct formula x 2

Is that it?
Also, can you tell me the name of the sheet where the SumProduct actually
resides?
Regards - Dave.

I have a workbook that needs a sumproduct.

I have:
=SUMPRODUCT(('Sheet3'!$A$2:$A$1000='Summary'!$F2)*('Sheet3'!$B$2:$B$1000='Summary'!$G2)*('Sheet3'!$C$2:$C$1000='Summary'!$H2)*('Sheet3'!$AD$2:$AD$1000='Summary'!R$4),('Sheet3'!$AB$2:$AB$1000))

What I need is a total of the result of that plus the same if it = $R$2 and if
it = $R$1.

Any ides for Excel 2003?  Thanks

RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ Sumproduct with 3 criteria +

2010-08-05 Thread Dave Bonallack

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Sumproduct

2010-04-21 Thread Swapnil Palande
Hi Jai,

Sum product formula will give you sum of product of two columns or arrays.

For ex:

Check the following table :

A B C
Product QtyPrice / unit
A 2 45
B 5 50
C 10 35
D 6 40
E 7 65

Now in above table if you want the total value of sales. Then in this case
you can use sumproduct formula.

formula will be: =sumproduct(B1:B6, C1:C6)

In above formula "B1:B6" is a range of qty column and "C1:C6" is a range of
price column.

Check the attached excel.

Regards,

Swapnil.
