Even 8213 investigation
I am desperately trying to get rid of EventID 8213 System Attendant Service failed to create session for virtual machine. KB 296151 is of no use since there is no \SERVICES\MSExchangeFBPublish key in the registry on my server. So I decided to try a brute force approach (on a lab server of course). MSExchangeFBPublish service is supported by madfb.dll Free-Busy processing. I stopped Exchange services, removed any mention of madfb.dll and MSExchangeFBPublish from the registry and rebooted the server. Now EventID 8213 is gone, everything looks fine. I am wondering if the removal of madfb.dll will cause troubles or lost of functionality with Exchange 2000 sp3 organisation running in native mode? Exch 2K and Exch 5.5 merge
Hi, There is an Exchange 2000 org running in native mode. There is also a separate Exch 5.5 org. Is it possible to migrate Exch 5.5 so it could join the existing Exch 2000 org? Only migration of 5.5 mailboxes is needed. RE: SMTP connector statistics in E2k
There is no MSExchangeIMC object in Performance Monitor on our Exchange box, neither there is any mention of it in E2K Resource Kit. Should there be an MSExchangeIMC at all on Exchange 2000? And I am still looking for the number of in- and out- bound messages for each of SMTP connector Alexey Try MSExchangeIMC* things... Total inbound messages and total outbound messages *might* be what you're looking for. Egad, but I feel generous to-day! Event 8213 in Exchange 2000 SP3
Hello, We just migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2K SP3. I keep getting an Event ID 8213 from MsExchangeFbPublish every 25 minutes. KB Q296151 does not help much as there are no SRS and MSExchangeFBPublish services on our exchange box which is running in native mode. Is there any way to get rid of this event? RE: E2k and Internet mail
So thought I. Now the situation. There is an Exch 5.5 box with IMS. There is a relay host somewhere in our company so MX records are not particularly involved. SMTP addresses of recipients and public folders configured as handle@dns_server_name (like PF for this list - [EMAIL PROTECTED]). Everything works perfectly nice with Exch 5.5. I just installed Exch 2k box, configured SMTP addresses the same way and I cannot receive mail from the Internet. I keep getting undeliverables with The recipient name is not recognized. I can send mail outside though. Anything missed to be configured? Anything with AD, policies...? Alex It is ready right away, assuming appropriate MX records are in place and SMTP addresses are configured for the users. It's even relay-secure out of the box. Now, how about my Lucent shares? Re: E2K-cannot see users from child domain in GAL
Recipient Update Service in child domain was not configured. Now it works OK. Thanks a lot everybody. Alexey We have built the following test structure: Two Win2K domains - ua.lucent.com, test.ua.lucent.com, one site (default). GC was configured in each domain. DomainPrep was run in both domains. Exchange 2000 on member server was placed into ua.lucent.com When I am creating mailbox for a user from child domain test.ua.lucent.com the wizard works fine but I can't see the user in GAL and Outlook client can't resolve the name. I can't also see him among mailboxes in Server Manager. Everything works fine for users from ua.lucent.com. What possibly could be wrong or misconfigured?
