MSCS cluster Exchange 2000 Stratus cluster
Anyone running Exchange 2000 on a Stratus (hardware based) cluster? Do you think it was worth its price? Management here distrust MSCS (lost quorum drive once). No need. But you will have to use Outlook 2000 or newer. We're currently using the exchangecode.com utility on Exchange 5.5. Their latest version isn't support in Exchange 200 yet, though. RE: need ammo
The general policy of most companies is 5MB limit of Internet inbound/Outbound messages. In my opinion, too many users think of email systems as being some panacean highway for any kind of data transmission no matter the threat or inconvenience to others. I have had nitwits send out large messages which got caught in a nasty mail loop. There is no easy answer but I recommend that you approach this from a policy point of view. Our policy here is 5MB. No ifs or butts (pun intended). D. -Original Message- From: Andrey Fyodorov [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 2:17 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: need ammo Hi all. I have this customer who is unhappy about 10MB message limit size on SMTP connectors in our shared Exchange environment. Does anyone have any scary stories about what happens when people try to send too many messages that are too large? What is a reasonable size for SMTP message? Our servers originally had higher limits but a few times large SMTP messages crashed the servers. I just need to convince this customer that it is not a good idea to send large messages. Thanks! Outlook 2000 custom Contact form question ...
I wish to add a button on a custom Contact form in Outlook 2000 which, when a user fills in the form and clicks on this button, would save the form in the Contacts folder on the server then forward this form as an attachment in an email to an SMTP address. Any ideas how or where to look for the answer? It is best to test this from an outside mail account like hotmail and send a message with a harmless attachment having a txt.vbs extension. One of the good aspects of Antigen for Sybari is that I can quarantine certain items and approve delivery later if I choose. For example, I filter all *.exe files but some *.exe files might serve a legitimate purpose (very rarely happens..but it does). User will notify me before or after the file is sent. If I deem the executable worthy then I simply forward it to the recipient using the Antigen interface. Even though I'm filtering just about every extension known to man I still have to watch out for these double extensions.(Example: *.txt.vbs,, *.txt.exe,, *.txt.lnk). ETC. The next version of Antigen will allow content filtering. This helps but can cause other problems so I will use it sparingly. -Original Message- From: Murphy, Brian [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2001 1:46 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: New Virus outbreak Not unless it's Java Script. -Original Message- From: Tea, Justin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2001 1:25 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: New Virus outbreak Isn't .js created by Office product when sending document from within the productivity suite? -Original Message- From: Murphy, Brian [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2001 9:10 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: New Virus outbreak I am.
