Configuring LDAP with exchange 200
I have had it up to my neck with OWA, and I have decided it is time to phase it out of our organization. So far I have been testing IMAP and the method I really prefer is to connect to my VPN and open up outlook. However to be practical (not saying the a VPN is not the best way), I am looking at an IMAP configuration using LDAP. Only problem is I have never touched LDAP before. I only have one question can some one point me in the right direction (docs, faqs, howto...) on where to begin setting up an LDAP server that will work with exchange/AD. Exchange Issues
Ok I am in a jam here, due to bad decision making and all of the above I have the following task: Our main Exchange and ADC server is infected with a virus(don't ask me how, I will just leave it as upper management) Is there any easy way of cleaning the virus off the machine, I am using Symantec corporate and enterprise editions. How would you guys recommend I clean this virus? Would you recommend to boot the machine in safe mode and do a full scan? Or is it a bit harder than that... RE: Brick Level Backup
I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but the setup I use is this: ARCserve machine installed using MSSQL database I backup everything to a SCSI Array (I keep 5 days backup on the array of all servers) Every night I dump everything to tape (LTO 100/200) So I have never had to restore anything from tape. And I also do a full backup of the backup server to tape. So the worst case is I will have to restore the backup server then restore all my other servers once the backup server is up or restore each server individually. You might laugh at this method, but it works. The largest mailbox that I do a brick level backup on is 729megs and most of the mailboxes are over 100megs. I have never had a failed job and I have done successful restores. I would have to say the ARCserve 9.01 is a solid product it is a 200% improvement over ARCserve 7. Exchange 2000 server - smtp queue
I am looking at my default SMTP virtual server queue under protocols in the ex. 2000 system manager and I am seeing something that looks like this Radiologycorp.com - sprint.com (SMTP connector - Remote delivery) Radiologycorp.com - xxzz1.com (SMTP connector - Remote delivery) Radiologycorp.com - 123box.co.uk (SMTP connector - Remote delivery) And the list goes on... Does that mean some on the network is relaying spam to these domains or could it be that the server has been compromised (which I find harder to believe..but then again) _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchangetext_mode=lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have been in contact with Amazon.com so these reviews will be removed in the near future. I could take this opportunity to opine about how unprofessional, unfair, childish and cowardly this is, but instead I offer this challenge: I will send you a copy of my Achieving Process Profitability at my own expense for you to review. All that I ask in return is that you actually read Achieving Process Profitability and post an honest, impartial review of it's contents, not your personal prejudices, to Amazon.com and this list. I will only respond to indivuals that publicly accept my challenge on this list, just respond to this message and then privately email me your name and address. I have a limited supply of books so I will accept the first 10-12 responses to this challenge. All fair-minded individuals will accept this challenge and the rest of the pompous bags of gas will be exposed for what they are. _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchangetext_mode=; lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchangetext_mode=lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Exchange issues
Sorry for the double post, but this has more info... I have a problem that is affecting two users on my network, and I cannot figure it out...maybe someone here can help. Outlook on both computers takes about 30 seconds to send and email to people outside of our domain and sometimes to people inside our domain. For everyone else email works fine. Any suggestions on what it might be? Could it be something local or something at the server level? Both computers are fully patched, both windows and Office service packs are installed and all updates applied. We are using Office XP and Exchange 2000. I Am not sure if this has anything to do with the issue, but I recently took our old NT4 domain offline and deleted the trust between both server.
