site connector question.
Happy New Year All. Just a quick question for the new year. I am running exchange 5.5 on an NT Server , i know i am upgrading soon 8-) Ok, I have 2 offices A and B, A being head office. Both are connected via site connector. Now Office B has been shut down and the server is now offline. I have one member of staff from office B moving to Office A, but my problem is, exchange in office A can still see all the accounts that was in office B. I am unable to modify or delete these accounts becuase exchange that was in office b is down. Is there any way i can delete the acconts that were in office B from being shown and used on the exchange server at head office. thanks for your time vas _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchangetext_mode=lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Dropping an email into the Sent items of a user
Thanks for your response, Yes we had thought of that, but decided the best way we want to do it, is just drop it directly into the sender i.e. our staffs sent items folder in their mailbox. Any ideas? cheers Vas - Original Message - From: East, Bill [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Exchange Discussions [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 5:47 PM Subject: RE: Dropping an email into the Sent items of a user Vas, had you thought about sending them (bcc or duplicate) to a public folder or another mailbox? I could see some advantages; for one, when the staff member leaves the org you still have the public folder record of what was sent. You could even make the public folder read-only so that Bob the Angry Employee can't deny sending the obscenity-laden haiku to your biggest client. -- be - MOS Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. -Original Message- From: Vas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 12:35 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Dropping an email into the Sent items of a user Hi all Ok this is the situation, hope someone can tell me if this is possible. We have SQL 2000, where we create and store in a table an automated email. This email is picked up by a service on another server, this service then fires this email to currently Exchange 5.5 on an NT4 server (soon to be upgraded to Exchange 2000 on Windows 2000). This email is fired off to our client, and in the FROM field, our staff email name and email address is entered that is allocated for this client. These fields are entered in via SQL. My question is, is there any way we can drop this email being sent to the client, in the SENT items email account of our staff. New Server
Hi All Just a quick question, we currently have Exchange 5.5 on a dinosaur of a server. We have just started to use scripts and its forever hanging. We want to upgrade to Exchange 2000 and a new server. What spec server would you get for stableness and resilience i.e. processing power, HD space, Memory, Raid etc if you need it for- 100 Users in which are all heavily dependant on email as we are becoming more of an internet and email company Quite a few mail shots to all our clients per week Running a few scripts daily Cheers for input and advice Vas _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchangetext_mode=lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Try to get one that could hold at least 7 drives, then you would be able to build three separate RAID volumes (RAID1, RAID1, RAID5) for an optimal disk IO ***. The size of the hard drives? - well, estimate how much disk space your users will need and calculate accordingly, sorry I can't predict that for you. ***I have seen places that do Exchange on two RAID1 volumes or even one RAID1 (or RAID5) volume, some don't even do RAID at all. Usually such places end up having bad luck and start badmouthing Exchange. In some cases they decide to switch to Lotus Notes, but I suspect their bad luck follows them there too. -Original Message- From: Vas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2003 5:41 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: New Server Hi All Just a quick question, we currently have Exchange 5.5 on a dinosaur of a server. question about attachments
Dear All Just a quick question... Is it possible that when an email comes in with an attachment to a specific email account , is it possible for Exchange to capture that attachment and save only the attachment to a specific folder on the computer (folder - windows folder not outlook folder) Use Exchange 5.5 on an NT4 server. 3rd party software advice
Dear all If I can have your expertise opinions for a moment. What is the best software that can handle: 1. Scan all emails for viruses 2. Scans emails for certain words or attachments so it is held on our server waiting for an admin to send it on if appropriate 3. Adds a disclaimer 4. Archives all incoming and outgoing emails with an easy to search facility We are currently on exchange 5.5 on and NT4 server.
