I've seen various articles on this. One states to re-install the event service portion on 5.5 by using the add/remove. Since this most likely means stopping EX, running Optimizer and re-applying the SP, it'll have to wait for an off-peak time. In the mean time, can you point me to those articles? I've tried to unistall the event service and reinstall it, that temporaily worked. Then it stopped again. Now when I try to reinstall the event service, I get this error and the install fails. The event service is listed under services, but when you run the exchange setup the event service is unchecked.
