Subject: OWA install without installing exchange

 System setup

 NT 4 Domain
Exchange 5.5 Enterprise Ed SP 4 (on NT 4 SP6)
OWA for Exchange 5.5.on NT 4 SP6 with an empyt exhange setup

Plumtree Intranet System on Win2k (sp unknown)
Plumtree wish to install their Exchange gadet (java powered
 web app) but
need OWA installed on the Plumtree server box.

 1) They say they can install OWA without installing exchange. Is that
Correct? What would it take? Has anyone done anything like that?

 2) what would be the result of having 2 OWA interfaces on the
 SAME NT 4
 Domain?

 3) how will having 2 OWA effect moving to AD and Exchange 2000?

They are not playing nice the the other kiddies and I need
 some truth
 (hence this e-mail).

I'm trying to intall the Outllok Web Access into a Windows
2000 SP2 Server (with IIS installed).I have the Exchange
Server 5.5 SP4 installed into a Windows NT4 SP6a.

The setup fails, when I indicate the Exchange Server's
name, with the following error:

Access is denied
Microsoft Windows NT
Ad no: 0CxC0020005

or,

Microsoft Exchange Directory

Someone can help me?
Thanks,

RE: OWA install issues

2002-02-05 Thread Soysal, Serdar

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinLogon

Change the DefaultDomainName value from the computer name to the actual
domain name the W2K computer is part of.

Then rerun setup. When you get the you do not have the necessary NT
service pack or hotfix error, write it down and search technet. You will
find an article that will get you past that error.

Group:

I have Exchange 5.5 running on NT 4. I want to install a second server
running Win2K as the OWA box. I made the W2K box a member of the Exchange
domain but when I run the E 5.5 setup for OWA it says that I am not a member
of the domain. Any ideas?

Thanks!
