RE: errors?

2002-09-23 Thread Veld, Paul

These are NetIQ notification messages, indicating that the agents on the
server in question have reached a threshold of some sort, or that the agents
are not responding to the central NetIQ server.

Paul.

RE: errors?

2002-09-23 Thread Mike Lagase

These are not from NetIQ, but Exchange 2000 internally. TO configure
these thresholds, you need to open the Exchange System Manager, then
expand Tools and then Monitoring and Status. Here you will see 2
folders. One for notification and one for status. Status is used for
setting up these thresholds for monitoring specific resources and the
monitoring folder is used for setting up email notifications.

This is a quick and easy way to send yourself an email when your
exchange services are on the fritz.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,
I am having a strange problem which I am hoping people here might have some
ideas about.

I have recently ( about a month ago ) added a fifth server to our Exchange
5.5 (Sp4 NT4sp6a domain ) site. Everything seems to be working fine except
one niggling little problem, I have the Admin program installed on my
Windows XP workstation. I can connect to the first four servers with no
problem, but when I try to connect to the new server ( either by
File-Connect to Server or Expand server and try to access any information )
I get DS_E_COMMUNICATION_PROBLEM or something similar. I can administer this
server fine from an NT4 workstation at the same location as my XP
workstation. I have tried re-installing the admin program to no avail. The
only reference to problems like this I can find in the KB reference separate
domains, but this is not the case.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Subject: Errors after applying Exchange SP2 and updating from Antigen
6.1 to 6.2 Windows 2000 SP2

User Group

Can any one please shed any light on this problem or point me in the
right direction.

We have upgraded Exchange 2000 SP1 to SP2 and now we are getting errors
in the Application event. These are:

Event 1040 Metabase Update failed replication 5 times with error
80070490 (Element not found.). Please change the diagnostic logging
level of MSExchangeMU to 'minimum' or greater to find the source of the
problem.

Event 1033 The default recipient policy cannot be found. SMTP virtual
servers and HTTP-DAV virtual servers and virtual directories will not
work properly.

Immediately after applying the SP2 we updated Sybari Antigen from
version 6.1 to 6.2. The system now has given us the problem that the
Exchange services will not start automatically and only if you start the
system attendant manually are you able start the other Exchange
services.

I have looked on TechNet and eventid and can not find any thing for the
above event id's. The above event id's look as if it could have been SP2
that caused the MSEXCHANEMU errors as we did not wait 15 mins before the
service kicked in. I do feel that the sybari antigen has stopped the
exchange services from starting automatically.

Any constructive help would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Marc Mearns

RE: Errors

2002-03-05 Thread Irfan Malik

Numerical Code: 5.7.1
Possible Cause:
1.General access denied, sender access denied - the sender of the message does not
have the privileges necessary to complete delivery.

2.You are trying to relay your mail via another SMTP server and it does not permit you
to relay.

3.The recipient might have mailbox delivery restrictions enabled. For example, a
recipient's mailbox delivery restriction was sent to receive from a Distribution List
only and non-member's email will be rejected with this error.

Troubleshooting: Check system privileges and attributes for the contact and retry the
message. Also make sure you are running Exchange 2000 Service Pack 1 or later for
other potential known issues.
