Although I haven't used that anti-virus software, standard procedure if
you're having problems with getting the store up, uninstall the anti-virus
software. Then work on getting the store up. Once you get the store
running, you can put the anti-virus back up. It's easier to troubleshoot
the core problem without external things affecting it.

 Hi All
I have been having difficulty in getting the IS up and running.
The Exchange server was down due to lack of space. We have backed
up the priv and pub. Then I transfered them to the newly setup
server. Unfortunately, it doesn't startup properly. hence, I
start running isinteg and eseutil to patch up everything.
After repairing, it seems to be ok when i run isinteg -patch.
Then I restarted the Exch IS service but it prompts me
the above error. I have checked the web and it suggested
there should be something to do with anti-virus software. FYI,
i'm using Norton Exch v2 for my prevoius Exchange 5.5 server SP3.
Can anyone provide me with info how to fix this problem.
I checked the MS site unfortuntealy it is down... i think so...
 not able to access.
 Regards,
 James

ya you are right. unfortunately, the thing is they didn't stop
the AV service but copied the priv and pub out from the box
and replaced with new one. hence it complicate the whole thing.
not sure why after repair of the 2 files it still prompt me
the above error. very strange, after running 'isinteg -patch' and
it returns successfully done, but still unable to start this
serivce.
any clue ?
thankx.
