[expert] Pcmcia Network adapter configured but can't be initalizated

2001-07-06 Thread Pere Castañer

I use Mandrake 8.0 in a laptop.
I'va a native SiS900 Network adapter configured but I need to configure a
pcmacia Network adapter. It is a Conceptronic CON100TC cardbus 32 Adapter but
is an Realtek 8139 Fast ethernet chip. In fact Hard drake detect it as:
-
Fabricante: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.

Modelo: RT8139 (B/C) Cardbus Fast Ethernet Adapter

Módulo del núcleo: rtl8139

Tipo de bus: PCI
--

The Pcmacia Adapter is shows in dmesage as:
--
Linux PCMCIA Card Services 3.1.26
  kernel build: 2.4.5-5mdk #1 Sat Jun 16 08:08:07 EDT 2001
  options: [pci] [cardbus] [apm]
Intel PCIC probe: <6>PCI: Assigned IRQ 5 for device 00:0a.0

  TI 4410 rev 02 PCI-to-CardBus at slot 00:0a, mem 0x1c00
host opts [0]: [ring] [serial pci & irq] [pci irq 5] [lat 168/176] [bus
2/5]ISA irqs (scanned) = 3,4,7,9 PCI status changes
cs: cb_alloc(bus 2): vendor 0x10ec, device 0x8138
--
but when in harddrake I put the configuration options for network pcmacia
adapter it say's:

modprobe: can't locate module eth1

Someone can explain me the meaning of this message?
Well the module is not loaded of course but what can I do for configure this
device?

thanks all for your time

[expert] SiS 7018 sound chipset Problem in LM8

2001-06-14 Thread Pere Castañer

Well I have a laptop with this sound chipset SiS 7018, LM8 installed the
modules for ALSA trident and it loads correctly but there is no sound in my
computer, Xmms play a song and the song is played BUT there is no sound.
I'm thinking to rebuild my kernel, but SiS 7018 is soported since 2.3.4 and
L.M8 has the 2.4.3. Well I need some information of any kind that I can make
work my sound chip in LM8. Any suggestions???

[expert] Sound SiS 7018 Problems in a Laptop with LM8

2001-06-12 Thread Pere Castañer

I have a Laptop Ahtec 2200 with the next configuration:

Intel Pentium III 1000 Mhz (Coopermine)
512 Mb Ram
SiS Integrated Sistems Motherboard
20 Gb HD
14.1" TFT on a SiS 630 Video Adapter Shared Memory
SiS 900 Network Adapter
SiS 7018 Sound chipset.

Well first say that Mandrake 8.0 installs all correctly, sound inclusive,
only I have problems with LCD but in the SiS.Com I can resolve the problem.
Well the problem is when I try to hear something with my sound card. I can
hear any sound, it seems a volume issue but the volume is at maximumwell
I used harddrake and I could see the driver of SiS integrated Sound System
installed but with any configuration of IRQ. I try to reinstall but the
samples of 8 bits midi sound don't reproduce
The modules in the kernel are loaded...because I could see in the boot
stage...some ideas???
AnyOne with the same or similar problem?
well thanks anyway
