[expert] DrakConf crash at launch
Well is really misterious... I installed mandrake 8.0 FREQ (26 June) and at first I installed Xfree 3.3.6 and all goes all right and drakconf works great. [expert] DvD and DivX players recomended in LM8?
Hi all I have a LM8 Freq (26June) in my laptop and I want to install something that reproduces DVD and DivX. I tried xine and XMPS but the first I have a problems with imlib and the second with gcc (version 3.0 required) and the question is: There is an player for reproduces DIvX and DVD that Works in Mandrake 8.0? I need info, experiences thanks in advance.

I use Mandrake 8.0 in a laptop. I'va a native SiS900 Network adapter configured but I need to configure a pcmacia Network adapter. [expert] I can't hear wav and mp3 but I can reproduce beeps and cd-audio whats wrong???
Well I have xmms and I tried to hear mp3 on it but the mp3 reproduce it without sound, the same for wavs...only cd's and beeps work... I have a Sis 7018 sound chipset in a laptop with LM8 (the mixer alsamixer is all items up) Any suggestions?

[expert] SiS 7018 sound chipset Problem in LM8
Well I have a laptop with this sound chipset SiS 7018, LM8 installed the modules for ALSA trident and it loads correctly but there is no sound in my computer, Xmms play a song and the song is played BUT there is no sound. I'm thinking to rebuild my kernel, but SiS 7018 is soported since 2.3.4 and L.M8 has the 2.4.3. Well I need some information of any kind that I can make work my sound chip in LM8. Any suggestions???

I have a Laptop Ahtec 2200 with the next configuration: Intel Pentium III 1000 Mhz (Coopermine) 512 Mb Ram SiS Integrated Sistems Motherboard 20 Gb HD 14.1" TFT on a SiS 630 Video Adapter Shared Memory SiS 900 Network Adapter SiS 7018 Sound chipset. Well first say that Mandrake 8.0 installs all correctly, sound inclusive, only I have problems with LCD but in the SiS.Com I can resolve the problem. Well the problem is when I try to hear something with my sound card. I can hear any sound, it seems a volume issue but the volume is at maximumwell I used harddrake and I could see the driver of SiS integrated Sound System installed but with any configuration of IRQ. I try to reinstall but the samples of 8 bits midi sound don't reproduce The modules in the kernel are loaded...because I could see in the boot stage...some ideas??? AnyOne with the same or similar problem? well thanks anyway
