I also enjoyed reading the article, as I have enjoyed many other texts
by the Dalai Lama.
In him I perceive a person with clarity of reason and compassion of
heart and with capacity of integrating to a whole the modern
scientific evolving world and ancient wisdom. He is ready to question
ancient texts, if modern scientific empirical evidence shows
otherwise. He has been capable of changing his position in the for
him important issue of liberating Tibet from the occupation by China
and accepts it now. He is humble and wise.

The difference is that the authors of Marvel Comics
have senses of humor, and can occasionally laugh at
all this "superpower" stuff and themselves.

I agree with what Patrick Gillam wrote Those days that people searched for strange and amazing events within the deep forests of Himalayas, mountains and other places where adepts lived are over. Today we are witnessing all sorts of siddhis from invisibility to levitation , reading minds and ...etc. ( I know friends that have started levitating - They stay floated in the air for minutes) Therefore what Yogananda has written in his book is beautiful and interesting yet is noting new these days and we see people are in need of further advance techniques for their desires and progress in life. Package of Techniques must be prepared for this thirst. This is called real business. We are all aware that we live in a world which has reached its own evolutionary climax. This stage can be best explained in a

they had had some sessions with her that were very beneficial.

Hi, yeah, its a little weird to keep reading stories about what
super powers this yogi or that manifested. The best book on that was
Yogananda's, but agreed that it gets old after awhile.

The thing to go for is your own freedom. The odd thing about that,

You, or anybody, could just make a link to the original post in its
entirety -- otherwise, people have to scroll through a lot of

I don't know if this model used in Mexico etc. could be economically
workable here in Iowa (the USA did not ratify Kyoto, so there are no
favorable pollution credit incentives for pollution in the USA, but
American companies are exploiting Kyoto pollution credit incentives
overseas:
http://www.washtimes.com/upi-breaking/20050211-023901-3765r.htm ),
but if possible it would certainly mitigate much of the stinkiness
of these hog lots.

In referring to snipping of posts, what's meant is that you do not
delete previous message material that you do not need to include in
your post, which wastes bandwidth (although that's probably not too
compelling an argument considering the vast wasteland that is the
web), and more importantly, wastes reader's time by having to scroll
through a lot of unnecessary material.

[FairfieldLife] As you sow, so shall you reap

2006-02-13 Thread bbrigante
Extract from the international press conference given by Maharishi
onNovember 6th, 2002. (Transcript)

 - Press: Maharishi you have decried the age old system of detering
crimethrough punishment.Would you please explain the difference
between man punishing manthrough man made law, and God punishing man
through the God made law of"As you saw, so shall you reap" -

Maharishi: "As you saw, so shall you reap" is not a punishment, it
is areality. You do plus, you have plus, you do minus, you have
minus. It isnot a punishment. "As you saw, so shall you reap" is the
nature of Law,Natural Law, the Will of God.It is not a punishment.
It is a neutral fact.It is neither positive nor negative. You do
positive, you have positive, you do negative, you have negative. But
the principle is
absolute principle. Not a punishment principle. Natural Law,
(hum) "As you saw, so shall you reap", plus or minus, itis not a
punishment. No, no.

Punishment and reward, that is human understanding about it.For God,
God is innocently watching. This our concept: God is
watching.Whatever is happening is happening: somewhere ice,
somewhere flames,somewhere dark, somewhere
light.Nature. Nature does it.

So God, when we say God then we have two values: silence, dynamic.
Twovalues : Silence and dynamism. What is dynamism against silence?
These are the different modes of silence that make dynamism
(laughing). What make action is (laughing), what make action is, move
of silence.Silence moves and it becomes action. So the whole thing
is: silence, oneness. All diversity is: flow of oneness.Eternal
existence of silence is eternal flow of silence.Just a matter of a
viewpoint.

You look at it: silence, absolute silence. But you look at it from
always silence, today silence, tomorrow silence, next day silence,
next year silence. Then you see: Oh, silence is flowing. The moment
silence is flowing, it is dynamism, it is activity. So ultimately the
reality is that it is all silence. And that is Purusha
value. That Purusha value is the chief controller. And that is the
ideal ofadministration, that the consciousness is all itself. And
being all itself it has a catalytic character.A catalytic
character. What does a catalyst do?It does not do anything. By its
presence it allows creativity in itsatmosphere.

So Purusha, a catalyst, is the sole commander in chief. And
thecommander in chief does not fight. Just by his presence his army
fights. Like that the army is the Brahman, the Total Natural Law.
The TotalNatural Law by its virtue, present in every grain of
creation, and inthe totality of the creation, is the same silence,
same silence, samesilence. That is the reality and that is why we say
unity in diversity, diversityin unity. Activity is a flow of
silence. And steadiness of activity is silence. Both ways. Whether we
talk of silence in terms of dynamism, or dynamismin terms of
silence. It comes out to be the same thing.

That is why the ultimate reality is: "I am totality". Total silence
and total dynamism both are two aspects of my own nature.I am all
that is important."Aham Brahmasmi" I am Totality. And not only I am
totality. Thou art also That."Tat vam asi" - "Tat vam asi" thou art
That. And I am That and not only you are That, not only I am That
butAll this is That: "Sarvam kalvidam Brahm". All this is That. It
is a beautiful, beautiful reality of one's own individual being
interms of cosmic being. It is a very beautiful thing that we are
having it now on the level ofadministration of our family of nations
now.Raja Ram is the controller, all silence, all silence, and in his
presence all dynamism, all
dynamism.

Forty are the ministries of the silent Raja Ram, the first ruler of
the Country (note Global Country of World Peace). So we have imitated
the reality in our physical world and we are goingto demonstrate our
physical world to be administered with that immensepower and energy
and order with which the entire diversity of theuniverse is being
administered.Very beautiful time for us all, and for this we are
grateful to ourtradition of Vedic Masters, Masters of Total
Knowledge. And we are transforming the world and we are very proud
of having takenthis profession of unifying the world now.In a very
independent way, just holding on to our own nature, silence. It is a
very beautiful thing."

Shortly after the mention, in the intro lecture in Belgium, of
that 'He can practice Hundreds of meditations', there is another
quote of note:-

Female questioner: 'Did you first start this teaching in the
Himalayas?'
MMY: 'I started in India, in the Himalayas I found I was very happ...
fortunate to find a perfect master who just radiated that fullness of
life. And I just basked in his radiance. And here is the opportunity
for the whole of mankind to enjoy.
I owe everything to my master.'

For the record, I think this is one of the most powerful -- and,
potentially, controversial quotes -- MMY has ever made. Indeed, I
think it boldly and confidently proclaims the power that the TM

Great quote! The other side of that coin is to be vigilant and not
*give* our power to anyone else. Stay centered; the only way power can
be usurped is for it to be given away.

Thanks for posting this. I'll pass it on to the JFAN folks. It doesn't solve
the fact that hog confinements are torture chambers, but as long as these
confinements exist this technology would make them less odious.

The magnetic field could be a result of Static electricity, produced by the motion of the electrons in the iron.       Sometimes in the Earth's histroy, the magnetic poles were near the Equator.!!  The polar inversion is random in direction and can move to any point on the Globe. bbrigante <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Date: Mon, 13 Feb 2006 04:11:41 -      http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/earth/magnetic.html "Origin of the Magnetic FieldMagnetic fields are produced by the motion of electrical charges. For example, the magnetic field of a bar magnet results from the motion of negatively charged electrons in the magnet. The origin of the Earth's magnetic field is not completely understood, but is thought to be associated with electrical currents produced by the coupling of convective effects and rotation in the spinning liquid metallic outer core of iron and nickel. This mechanism is termed the dynamo effect. Rocks that are formed from the molten state contain indicators of the magnetic field at the time of their solidification. The first sentence of the Bible in Hebrew as I recall it:

bereshit bara elohim et ha shamaim ve et ha erets

36/64

John 1:1, first phrase:

en arkhe en ho logos

12/88

The whole sentence:

en arkhe en ho logos kai ho logos en pros ton
theon kai theos en ho logos

1/99

In Latin (from memory):

In principio erat verbum et verbum erat apud
Deum et Deus erat verbum.

12/88

homokaasu = gay gas
