What does it mean when someone practicing the TM technique develops a mental
illness or commits suicide? It does not mean the technique does not work. The
TM program is neither an instant nor a stand-alone cure for all the illnesses
people may suffer, nor is it represented as such.  People may be born with
certain conditions, stresses, and susceptibilities that emerge at various
stages in their lives. As published research has indicated, the TM technique
triggers a global repair mechanism in the physiology and psychology of everyone

In 2014, the Pew Research Center asked Americans a series of hypothetical
questions
http://www.people-press.org/2014/06/12/section-3-political-polarization-and-personal-life/
about how they would feel about a relative's potential spouse. When asked if
they would be upset by a family member marrying someone of a different race,
11% said they would object. When asked the same question about a relative
marrying someone of a different political party, 15% of Democrats and 17% of
Republicans said they would be unhappy with the prospect. But when asked to
consider a family member marrying someone who doesn't believe in God, 49% of
Americans disapproved.

An astounding factoid, there follows this revelation a few tips about what the
author thinks atheism is all about and why you believers have nothing to fear
(except losing arguments obviously)

[FairfieldLife] Re: Carl Sagan's Son on 9/11

2015-03-13 Thread rich...@rwilliams.us [FairfieldLife]

According to some FFL conspiracy theorists, there were no Jews inside the
World Trade Center on 9/11 so ergo, the WTC attack was an inside job by an
Israeli cabal inside the U.S. Government that controls the world economy and
wants to implement a New World Order.

According to two FFL informants, there must have been planning by someone other
than al Qaeda, before the attack and there must have been advance knowledge by
some high-level government officials. Yeah, that sounds convincing. Go figure.

Government investigations and independent reviews have found no evidence for
the theories.
